Support Tim! Great Local Service, Despite Corporate Neglect. I want to write this review specifically for the community of Reedsburg regarding the U-Haul location on King St. If you need a rental, please give Tim and his brother your business. They have been serving this community for 14 years, but U-Haul corporate is actively trying to push them out. Corporate is opening a new location under the radar (A+ Furniture) and starving Tim’s location of new equipment. They sent him the beat-up, dirty trailers (mine had cracked corners patched with silicone and I had to wash the entire interior before using it), while corporate keeps the brand-new trailers hidden in the dark at their own spot. Despite the corporate sabotage, Tim's customer service is unmatched. When I ordered a dozen moving blankets, the system accepted my payment, but the store physically had none in stock because corporate won't supply them. Tim didn't just tell me 'too bad.' He personally went out, opened up all his other trucks, and scrounged up 6 blankets from his fleet just to make sure I had something to protect my items. He also took the time to tell me the truth about how U-Haul operates (they never sell their trailers, they just run them into the ground). Tim is the reason this rental was a success. He goes above and beyond for the locals, even when corporate ties his hands behind his back. Reedsburg, let's support this local business and keep our money with people who actually care about us!

Kathryn NI am writing to share my recent experience renting a U-Haul trailer, which fell far below the standard of quality and safety I expect from this company. Upon pickup, the trailer was visibly dirty inside, littered with dirt, leaves, and rocks. However, the maintenance issues were far more concerning than the cleanliness. The flooring was in poor condition—it appeared buckled, and the screws seemed to be unattached, causing loud, persistent squeaking with every step. Most alarmingly, there was a significant structural defect. In the left corner of the interior, the welding had detached completely, leaving a gap where the outside was visible. Additionally, the interior walls were riddled with holes patched with sealant, suggesting a history of neglect. When I returned the trailer, I immediately brought these issues to the owner's attention. He acknowledged the state of the equipment and mentioned he would be sending it away for repairs. While I appreciate that the issue was acknowledged, the fact that this trailer was rented out in this condition is unacceptable—especially considering the safety concerns. My experience this time was well below average, and the maintenance standards for this equipment were extremely poor. I would strongly caution anyone against renting this particular trailer until these issues are properly addressed.
MARK JMy overall experience was below expectations due to the significant inconvenience caused by changes to my original rental logistics. I had to travel to different locations to obtain the equipment I needed, which resulted in additional mileage, time, fuel, and inconvenience that were not part of my original plan. I was then charged approximately $100 in additional mileage. I have already contacted U-Haul by email to request a review of these additional charges and explained the circumstances, but I have not received a response yet. I would appreciate U-Haul reviewing my rental history and the additional mileage caused by these location changes and providing a fair resolution.
