I am writing to share my recent experience renting a U-Haul trailer, which fell far below the standard of quality and safety I expect from this company. Upon pickup, the trailer was visibly dirty inside, littered with dirt, leaves, and rocks. However, the maintenance issues were far more concerning than the cleanliness. The flooring was in poor condition—it appeared buckled, and the screws seemed to be unattached, causing loud, persistent squeaking with every step. Most alarmingly, there was a significant structural defect. In the left corner of the interior, the welding had detached completely, leaving a gap where the outside was visible. Additionally, the interior walls were riddled with holes patched with sealant, suggesting a history of neglect. When I returned the trailer, I immediately brought these issues to the owner's attention. He acknowledged the state of the equipment and mentioned he would be sending it away for repairs. While I appreciate that the issue was acknowledged, the fact that this trailer was rented out in this condition is unacceptable—especially considering the safety concerns. My experience this time was well below average, and the maintenance standards for this equipment were extremely poor. I would strongly caution anyone against renting this particular trailer until these issues are properly addressed.

How U-Haul Reviews WorkMy overall experience was below expectations due to the significant inconvenience caused by changes to my original rental logistics. I had to travel to different locations to obtain the equipment I needed, which resulted in additional mileage, time, fuel, and inconvenience that were not part of my original plan. I was then charged approximately $100 in additional mileage. I have already contacted U-Haul by email to request a review of these additional charges and explained the circumstances, but I have not received a response yet. I would appreciate U-Haul reviewing my rental history and the additional mileage caused by these location changes and providing a fair resolution.
