I did not reserve my rental with collision insurance but was told at the time of pick up I accepted it on the screen. I did not recall choosing that option and felt somewhat tricked into increased cost. My rental was only for an hour and turned out less economical than anticipated. I also did not reserve at the location that I was given which increased mileage.

I’ve used primarily the U-Haul located on Lombardy street and this location. The staff is much more pleasant on Lombardy street than this location. Not very welcoming. Only used due to convenience of location.

Initially, the national rep I called to make a reservation was a complete waste of time. She had no idea where I was located, and said she couldn't tell which location the size trailer I wanted was, in relation to me. I explained Prince George, which was where she said a trailer was, was about 30 minutes away. Despite this, she asked me at least twice if I still wanted her to make the reservation for me anyway! All I could say was, "huh"??? I was getting nowhere, so told her I'd find one on my own. I called the Midlthian Turnpike location, and they told me they had several trailers, and reserved one for me. All of the employees, during pick-up and drop-off, were wonderful, and I will definitely just call them directly in the future. I'm not sure what's going on with the national call center, but I'd consider moving everything online or route the call to the store nearest the zip code the caller is calling from. Sorry to rant, but this certainly is not a reflection of the service received at the store.

Computers were down, it was a huge inconvenience, they could not release the truck that I reserved. They sent me across town, and staff was rude, only one person was willing to help me. I paid my helpers to help me move items, and I lost a half day. Terrible way to run a business, no one knew how to hand write the contract.

We used the online rental service so that we could pick up our truck before business hours (at 7am) on Sunday. At first the process seemed rather seamless and we followed the steps. Our truck had A LOT of damage to it that was not marked on the truck so we had to submit about 30+ photos of damage and explanation which took about 20 minutes. We received a message from someone named Olivia that she was validating my license information and calling my contact. She had been unable to reach my contact so I called them myself and she answered immediately. After this 1 minute setback, we never heard another word from Olivia for over an HOUR. It was raining outside, the store was closed, and we sat in our car while our movers that we had hired were about to be at our house. While waiting for Olivia to respond (which she never ever did), I called the Uhaul customer service and was on hold for over 30 minutes before anyone ever picked up. This gentleman was extremely unhelpful and all he did was place me on hold (three times for at least 10 minutes each time) and talk to his supervisor and try to find Olivia (which he was not successful at). Eventually, somehow my online contract allowed me to hit continue and I was able to retrieve my key from the lockbox. At this time, the Uhaul customer service rep came back on the line after another hold time and told me that he couldn't help me and that I would just have to wait until the store was open (which at this time was 845am so only 15 minutes more to wait). I was furious and told him I would be calling for a refund. I contacted customer service at my store and I have to say that without much explanation they were more than willing to give me a $50 credit which was great! I looked at my account last night and realized that they had actually given me two $50 credits so being the honest person I am, I am now calling customer service again. My call wasn't answered for a solid 15 minutes today and I have someone on the other line who is her first day. Currently I have been on this call for 40 minutes and I have not gotten anywhere near resolution on this. Long story short, I will never use Uhaul again for a move. It is way too much of a hassle and your people are not trained well on how to handle questions and concerns from customers.

The customer service wasn’t that great. I had to ask the associate inside to slow down speaking when processing my ticket. Outside when getting my truck the associate outside wasn’t friendly or helpful. Lack of assistance was given.
