It was a positive touch!

My biggest issue is that that the location I originally selected to pick up the truck told me a few days ahead of time, when I called them, that they couldn't find my reservation. I called U-Haul, tried 3 times, and never could get through to speak to anybody. I got put on hokd and no one ever picked up. Finally, 2 days before my rental, U-Haul called me, but the person who called was not friendly at all.

When I arrived at the address for returning the truck that was given both online and on my paperwork, there was an empty building there. It had a hand-lettered sign saying they'd moved to another location, so I used GPS to find that location. Although there was UHaul signage, the business was closed (at 4:30 PM on Saturday) and there was no exterior drop box or instructions. Additionally, the primary sign was for the previous occupant, making it somewhat confusing. I called the 877 number given on my paperwork THREE TIMES and explained the situation each time. The first time, the person I spoke with was completely baffled and told me he couldn't help me. The second time, I was put on hold and left there interminably. The third time, it was suggested that I would have to either come back the next day (not possible due to other obligations) or leave the key in the truck, with one door unlocked (insane liability). I was finally able to shove the key between the front doors of the establishment, so that it could fall on the floor inside. Altogether, a very frustrating experience.
