My original online reservation allowed me to choose a location closer to me. I did not receive a confirmation call or email telling me the location had changed so when I arrived the next morning and logged into my account, the change showed up. Highly inconvenient. The person at the new location was friendly and super helpful but I do not understand why I input all of my info online when there was a person available who handed me the keys. Unless he wasn't scheduled to be there as of yet since I was late arriving due to the above-mentioned location change.

My experience with U-Haul was AWFUL. If you are thinking about reserving a U-Box to use for moving- DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is worth the extra money to go with a moving company, or an actual Pod company. I am a customer who gives any company benefit of the doubt as I am in business myself, but my entire process working with U-Haul was unacceptable! I chose the option of renting a truck to be able to transfer my furniture from my apartment to the warehouse to load up my u-box. I decided to save mileage by renting the truck from the location in which my u-box would be located. Well my location changed for my u-box and the only way I found that out was when I checked my online account to double check the address to where I was going. I should have been notified of this change. So due to this change I had to use for mileage for the truck, therefore resulting in more money. Once I found out the new location as to where my u-box was I called and asked to have my u-box put outside because I would be loading up my u-box after store hours. I was provided multiple documents of confirmation that my box would be available on the lot. I attempted to call the location back because I was confused by how to know which u-box would be mine if I arrived if there were multiple boxes. I was told someone from the store would call me back, but I did not receive a call the same day. When I arrived on site to load up my u-box I could not figure out which one was mine. I looked on all shipping labels that were located on each box and none came close to matching my information. I immediately called customer service to make them aware that I could not find my u-box. Customer service could not tell me which one would be mine. I ended up having to extend my truck reservation a day due to the issue. I had to pay for that extra day and extra mileage for the truck. I spoke with the store manager about my u-box not being available to me. He, Billy, was very nice and explained to me that my box was outside and available, but understood why I was confused as to finding which one it was. That same day we loaded the box up. It was very clean, and had all of the blankets inside to use! Due to the time delay an entirely new reservation was created, therefore resulting in a time delay on getting the u-box shipped. I was not happy to know that my u-box was now not being shipped out until 2 days later than originally planned. I called customer service on the day that my u-box was scheduled to ship and no one could locate my box. Finally, after being on hold for an hour someone transferred me to the store in which it was loaded. The box was apparently still there and unable to ship to “needing further clarification”. I told the rep on the phone that I didn’t understand the hold up and that I was a very unhappy customer. I was then given a number for a manger to call. When I called this number it went to a voicemail of someone I had not heard of. Come to find out this number provid

This location was poorly staffed. There was only one person working and many people kept waiting. I also called a location in the Daleville, VA area and the gentleman was very rude to me on the phone telling me that he guaranteed that the trailer I wanted was unavailable in the ENTIRE Roanoke Valley. When I told him I was still going to call around he hung up on me. I called the next location and got exactly what I wanted.

I was promised a 4x8 trailer at 230.00. Bought the 70.00 ins. AnddtotalEAS TO BE 330.00. I was given a 5x8 instead and was quoted the 4x8 price. BUT WAS CHARGED the price of the 5x8! The old bait and switch act! I have rented lots of trailers from uhaul but will be taking my business elsewhere!

I would say communication is the biggest problem. I called to make reservation and was promised 10 foot truck. Then I called 2 days before the move day and was told there was no truck available and I was told then that apparently even if you have a reservation you aren't guaranteed the truck. No one told me that on the day I made reservation! I was devastated. Then luckily they had 20 foot truck, even though that was way big for me, but better than no truck. Overall, not a good experience.
