The vehicle should be clean and free of odors when it is picked up. The cargo area of the van I rented was dirty with dried mud spots in it. The floor in the passenger compartment also had a lot of dried mud and random staples spread out on it. The attendant at the location wasn't very helpful either. Instead of him checking me in, he made me do the transaction online. I've always been pleased with U-haul but this location is the worst I've ever been to.

The u-haul representative was very rude and didn’t want to do anything. He forced us to do self check-in even thought we were already at the location. At some point, he said that we were wasting his time. When the truck was returned, he insisted that I go back to take a picture showing mileage and gas levels- he never whe to out to check-in the car
