The vehicle electronic key would not unlock or lock the doors. The key would not turn off the car alarm, which would sound every time I opened the door. The key was bent and would not open. The passenger sun visor was shattered - glass fell on my passenger. Truck bed was not cleaned - piles of screws on the floor. Mileage was inaccurate. Quoted me one rate - charged me another. Should have stuck with Budget like or Enterprise - their rates are better and their vehicles are maintained.

I'm a frequent renter and see the condition of the vehicles deteriorating. Last truck I rented had a bad transmission. This time, the 1st vehicle I was given had nails & screws in the tires. Then the ignition key to the second vehicle did not unlock the passenger doors. I called the roadside service (& I am still waiting for a reply, 48 hours later). Had to use a coat hangar to free the door.

What a horrible experience. The 20 ft truck would not go uphill over 30 mph. The truck sounded like it was going to explode. I thought it might be a race car passing by me. But it wasn't. Then I thought maybe it's a diesel truck but it wasn't that either. Finally I stopped for gas and found it to be regular unleaded. A hour ride took us close to 2 1/2 hours because you couldn't go over 45-50 miles per hour. I put $80 in total for 190 miles. The truck needed oil which AAA had to put in when I was getting gas for the last time heading back after having to do an extra trip thinking that the weight might be a factor in the performance but again we could not get it to go any faster or the noise go away. I will never rent from Uhaul or recommend to anyone. If asked I instead will tell of my horrible experience. I left my friends dollies and blankets in the truck and when I called for them was told nothing was found. I had to buy 2 dollies and a dozen blankets for the person who lent me them. I was told 4 times that a regional manager was going to call me and until now, nothing. No call but I keep getting a Bill for a charge that I told Uhaul I wanted to put on a different card. I told the person that I was moving a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. The offered me a 10 ft truck and said it would be space. That was a lie. I ended up having to rent a second truck from somewhere else. Terrible.

Clean the cab and box trailer. Cab had debris from last customers lunch. The box trailer was unswept.

The individual connecting the equipment was not helpful. He was on the phone. I tried explaining I was moving 800+ miles and needed help connecting the trailer lights etc. I was told to go to another uhaul location. For a female, driving these things isn't easy, and driving them in large cities makes that drive even worse. Not only that but he was on the phone for the entire time.

I don't blame saddle brook location as much as I blame the uhaul reservation over the phone. It's a poor way to do business. When I got to saddle brook for the 6x12 trailer at my appointed time they did not have the trailer. I was stuck so I had to rent a truck which cost me $100 more. When you reserve a trailer you expect it to be there. Unacceptable to leave customers stranded.

The 24/hour pick up was a exhausting experience. My phone didn't have a good service. Please provide WiFi when you are doing truck pick up anytime.

Slow service. Did not have furniture blankets available for rent so I had to buy them. Upon returning the truck, I had no idea what to do (where to drop keys, if I had to stay to receive receipt, go to front desk, etc.) and employees were not helpful when I asked. You need more explicit instructions for returning vehicles so that customers aren't just left standing around with 0 clue.

Due to lack of availability, I was forced to pick up the truck over 30 miles round trip from my home which of courses cost me more than double what I would have normally paid if the multiple closer uhaul locations had availability. I made this reservation over a week in advance. It's unfortunate to have to pay so much additional.

In the first truck the seat belt did not properly buckle and was dirty.The second truck the gas tank was empty the passenger door was not safe and the aligment was horrible i had to fight to keep the truck safely in the lane

Took nearly 1/2 hour to rent as only one cashier and 3 people ahead of me Taking pics on smart phone is a major hassle No clear drop off sign for keys so I had to walk around the building to find I would look elsewhere to rent from in the fut5
