I had a confusion on the amount of gas to refill. So instead of refilling to a previous indicated amount, it would be good if we get a full tank and have to refill the tank to full while returning.

The truck was clean and in good shape and ready when I needed it. 28 of my 43 miles where just driving the truck from the pickup location to my house and back - mileage charges are crazy high for this. Online check in and return does not work if the vehicle is not at the official rental site (which it wasn't). This is a real pain. I would not use U-haul again.

Two locations to return truck is inconvenient. Also, it was a far drive from my home. Surprised there wasn’t something closer.

I scheduled a pick-up at 10 am and an attendant was NOT available or at the shop. I had to pick-up truck at a different location. This was not part of my plan and it put me behind 30 minutes. Secondly, I was using it for 20 miles. The system does not tell you that you must return it back to the same location. So the system charges me an additional 20 miles on an empty truck. Finally, I call customer care and they end up telling me that they cannot help me. Competition is fierce with this type of industry. I will shop somewhere else where I can receive proper service.

Truck wasn't washed. Wiper fluid was empty so I couldn't clean the windshield. Fuel wasn't full. The truck creaked through the 400 miles that I drove for. Gas mileage claimed was 10 mpg. I got 8. Tiny booth is hard to spot in a busy strip mall. Online check in is a pain since you still have to walk back to physically pick up the keys. Overall 'online' pickup still took 30 min. However, proprietor was friendly.

Location was not manned both times during pick-up/return. Phone was provided to call if no one was there, but it went directly to voicemail and never called back. U-Haul App was helpful to rent van from location, but it go stuck after photo taken of odometer and gas gauge by app when van was returned. Had to call Office of where person works to complain to get a call back. Even then I was just told to leave key in drop off box even though posted work hour were from 10 to 4.

When renting online, the location I booked was not the location that was actually the pickup location. The directions to the location were different from where the vehicle was actually parked (not in the parking lot indicated but on an intersection a little ways away). It was difficult to find.

I tried calling the office multiple times and left voice messages to inform the team about my delayed arrival. Nothing was forwarded to the movers so they only helped for 20 min to move a 2 bedroom house. Really poor and pathetic service. I should be getting 75% of my money back! I will make sure to avoid this moving service at all costs in the future. I AM HUGELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE POOR RESPONSE TIME AND SERVICE OF THESE MOVERS!! DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR MOVE!!!!!

I have rented trucks and equipment at least 25 times, and this was by far the worst experience ever -- and maybe the worst customer experience I have ever had from any national company in any service industry. 1. When I made the reservation online I was told to pick it up at the store location. I called the local number several times to confirm everything and no one ever answered the phone. I tried again several times the morning of the reservation and again, no one ever answered the phone. 2. The morning of my rental I received a text message saying "your rental is ready and has switched to a self checkout, pick up your truck at ___ and then logon to the u-haul site." -- I would NEVER have rented had I known that ahead of time. 3. When I went to that location -- an obscure street with poor cell reception -- a truck was there. When I logged onto the site it did not tell me what to do -- and instead kept sending me to an instruction video that wouldn't load. 4. Frustrated, I drove a couple miles to the location of the U-Haul store. It was closed, with a sign saying the hours and to call another number if no one was there. I called that number over and over. No one answered the phone. 5. I then called the 800 number for U-Haul. I was put on hold for 20 minutes. And then when someone answered they didn't know how to help -- and then I was hung up on. 6. Eventually, that person was kind enough to call me back. She was very kind, but didn't know how to help. SUMMARY: Whoever runs this location is a terrible brand ambassador. And the self check-in system is horrible.

Really bad setup. Empty kiosk required a phone call to someone who requested that I set up an app before he could help me. I had already completed express check-in so this was rather disconcerting. He eventually was able to "locate" my reservation without me downloading an app. He was not overly pleasant to deal with. Truck was on a deserted street about 1 mile away. I received no contract. The tank was less than 1/2 full. When I returned the truck the guy with the computer advised that the tank was 5/8 full when I received the truck. When I returned the truck the mileage was about 85,000. The computer claimed the mileage out was about 48,000. It took about 20 minutes for the poor guy to call someone to allow me to not have to pay for the extra 35,000 miles.

RE: confirmatin #21523261 Terrible service. I got a text from Uhaul (Randy) one hour before my pickup time that the truck is ready and I can go to the truck to do a self checkout. I went to the truck and started the self checkout. Completed 3 out of 7 steps until it asked for a POC to verify. I gave a POC number, but the POC didn't answer, so the checkout could not be completed. The website told me to go to the store to checkout. I went to the store. It supposed to open at 10am, but no one was there at 10. There was another couple there that got a text from Randy for their van, but couldn't complete the self checkout and was waiting for the store to open. I texted and called Randy but got no answer. The other couple was trying to contact him as well. I called the Uhaul 800 number and waited for 25 minutes before someone answered. Still they could not help me get the truck. After 45 minutes waiting and calling, the other couple was able to get a hold of Randy and he gave them the combo to the key. I immediately called Randy and he answered and processed my checkout. Terrible, terrible service. If the website posts a business hour, then someone should be there to open at the designated time.

It was a little confusing when dropping off. We had driven to the site we picked it up but the website said to bring it to a different location. It also said we would get charged if not dropped off at specified location. A man came up and told us we were in the wrong spot (website address). No problem, just confusing!

Thank goodness for Randy at U-Haul. I started the process online, but there was a glitch in sending/processing the photo of my license. I was three times to send photo which I did - three times. Finally, Randy overrode the online process and I was on my way rather quickly. Returning the rental using the drop box was very nice and easy.

Supposed to return the truck at 10am and the location is scheduled to open at 10am. However, nobody showed up at this location. Called customer service but did not solve the problem and asked us to return to truck to a site 8 miles away. Wasted a lot of time. Originally chose this location because it's very close and thought it would be convenient, however, it turned out to be a very bad experience. NO STAFF at the location and he showed up one hour later than when he is supposed to be there!

There needs to be better email communications as to where the vehicle is parked. I was VERY nervous as the truck was parked two miles away from the location and I went to the above address. That is not where the vehicle was parked. PLEASE FIX THIS.

This was not a good experience. I picked up the truck early using the web process to get the key. For some reason it required calling my wife for a second phone number verification. She was asleep and did not pick up. My reservation was suspended, and could not be reset. I ended up speaking to 5 different people at uhaul over 1.5 hours trying to resolve. I was transferred to regional, which was closed, and then disconnected. Someone finally unlocked the account, but it was a very frustrating experience. I don’t know if I would use Uhaul again if there are comparable other choices. The truck and rates were fine. My issue is 100% with the checkin process.
