Customer service at site was great, but the truck they gave me had a tire service needed light on. I called, and they said I had to speak with Uhaul roadside assistance, and that I shouldn't drive a truck that was unsafe. I called them, and it said I needed to request help online, so I went and filled the tires myself, and the light stayed on the entire 2 days. Truck worked fine, but it was a little nerve-wracking.



I walked in without a reservation and was able to get s truck. Staff was courteous and friendly.

I requested and received email confirmation for the location at 4101 State Street, Santa Barbara. When I got there that morning at my scheduled time, they said my truck was at a different location. I saw there is $50 guarantee if my truck isn’t at the right location and I would like to get that please. Thank you

My experience at the location where I picked the motorcycle trailer up was very good. My only problem was when I made the reservation over the phone with the call center they assured me that the motorcycle trailer came with straps. When I got to the location they informed me that none of their trailers come with straps. I was very clear when I made the reservation that I would rather not pay for the straps so that’s why the motorcycle trailer was recommended. I was unfortunately given the wrong information by the call center.

We returned the rental pickup with much more gas than when we picked it up. Seems like we should have received a little credit for the extra gas - especially when we pay almost $3 per gal here in California.

Your loss leader of $19.99/day for the 10" truck was followed by a $50 mileage fee making my one day rental almost $70. Outrageous! I will never rent form U-Haul and warn everyone I know as to the misleading approach you take to rentals.

Disorganized, forgot items, more worried about lunch than helping.



The “Manager” Abel was very rude to me. I reserved the vehicle to be picked up at 8am. As you may know, moving can add surprizes and I was not able to pick the vehicle up until 11:00AM. Able informed me that I still had to bring the vehicle back at 8 AM because that’s the time entered on the reservation. The vehicle is rented for 24hours. When I asked why I was being shorted time he stated that some one else is showing up at 8AM tomorrow to rent the truck. He then threatened me by stating that if I did not have the truck back by 8:00 AM I would be charged for the lost revenue, the rental cost of a day, and an additional penalty of $50.00. I was only inquiring on why I didn’t have the truck the full 24 hours. I understand if it’s policy to stick to the reservation times. That’s not my issue. The way Abel handled the situation was very poor. He was never apologetic about the confusion, nor did he care that I was concerned about not having the truck for enough time. When I asked to speak to a manager he slapped his business card down on the counter and stated that he was the manager. I didn’t want to bother with any possible issues with Abel again so I have already returned the 15’ truck to the Uhaul location at 7:45 this evening. This was my second time renting a vehicle from that location. I plan on renting another moving truck in six months. Because of Abel’s very poor customer service I will be taking my business to Penske truck rentals down the street. Thank you for your time. I hope this issue will be addressed with Abel.
