I was concerned that the check engine light was on when the truck was signed out to me.... they told me not to worry about it that it had been looked at. I went ahead and used the truck because I was staying local, but if it would have been a long road trip I most definitely would have refused that vehicle.

The member of staff seeing the truck in was pleasant and efficient. However the female staff member at the desk was not. She was scruffy, impolite and had a pretty rude attitude. You were made to feel a nuisance and whilst waiting, my wife who had come as back-up driver decided to buy a couple of items from the shop and was treated badly.

I am upset when I called and said $380.00 is to much, how much to go to Mill Valley instead of San Luis Obispo. I was quoted $180.00 and then when I got there it was still $380.00. If all your calls are recorded - find the second call I made, where she quoted me $180.00. I WAS PISSED. The vehicle smelled terrible.

Got my order wrong then offered no solutions. I reserved a truck at the beginning of the week when I rented a truck and then all of a sudden they didn’t have it. Really bad experience all the way around. I’ll give you another chance, but damn that was bad.

The cargo van I rented reeked of cannabis THC oil. Big discomfort. Stop renting vans to pot farmers, or at least give the 'regular' customers a van clean of marijuana smells. If I had been stopped with my van loaded with furniture wrapped in the blankets you provided, I would have had to endure a complete search of the vehicle by law enforcement. THE VAN STINKS OF POT! I spoke with the manager, Jim regarding this, and he said he was 'aware' of the problem ....

So we contacted the the local number. We made the reservation for a 17 Ft truck. We obtained a confirmation number. The next day we walked in to pick up the moving truck. The local employee could not find my confirmation. Apparently after 3 rings of the local number you get the corporate center. The staff took my reservation and gave me the 17 Ft truck. According to the local staff the corporate will never turn a customer away and give you what you want. However they don’t confirm with the local staff that the requested truck is available. This puts the local guy in a really bad spot. Basically passing the buck and making the local guy look bad! We hope this practice will change. We like to support our home town businesses. U Haul you need to figure this poor practice out.

Truck had 143k miles. Steering was very loose and truck wandered severly. Location would not take my credit card claiming bank had a hold on card. Bank DID NOT have a hold on card. They screwed up and wouldn't admit. Called to get bill processed. Wouldn't call back. Drove back to UHaul location and demanded they take the credit card they said wouldn't work. It worked. Very incompetent and not customer oriented. Will not rent from UHaul again.

All their trucks are “oversold” and if for some reason you were assigned a truck that was “oversold”, even if you’re there at 7 AM, you’re “f*<¥€d”. Dozens of trucks in the lot but they won’t rent to you, even with a reservation. When you need a truck you need to be sure you can have it. Will NEVER use them again. ?? TERRIBLE.

Initially I was put off by the lack of service. No one was in the store front initially, then 4 staff walked in together. We began our transaction with a young lady while the rest of the staff continued with LOUD conversation, including watching You Tube videos. With this going on at the desk it made it difficult to hear the person we were talking to. Lastly, I had done the check out on-line with my reservation but it still took 45 minutes to get our rental and leave.

The gentleman who handled my rental seems to think he's actualy funny. I found over used smart aleck catch phrases and platitudes, condescending and insulting especially in view of my exhaustion from the loss of my home and truck and everything i have ever owned. I have little tolerance for smugness and what felt like a guy just trying to take every shortcut possible to be rid of me. No explanations of ANYTHING except those he had devised some shorthand language for. I orered online and resrved a handtruck, critical to me to obtain the veryfirst piece of furniture we now need to replace. Obviously neithrr inteestdor willing to privide any answers that were not inclusive of his brand of condescention, I reluctantly asked if there might be any accomidation for fire victims. To which he now provided an answer: NO!!!! We were, but not now!!!!!! I was humiliated. I finished as fast as possible which was quick since mr. Uhaul had no desire to answer or explain anything I needed to know. When done he just pointed and said your truck us parked in ba k and you need to move your car back there. I fnally found the van, running and burning what was now my gasto pay for as mr. Uhaul so rudely pointed out Ibetter bring it back the same or he would overcharge for gas. I was now extremely late and it was raining. Nobody was coming to explain van features, do a damage walkthrough or even show me the hidden gas cap was; aninsight that would have saved me 20 minutes of hunting. I got in, the ac blowing on high, the windows open on a rainy 45 degree day. The reason was about to force me to keep everything this way for the entire trip and now everything I transported now smells of this: marijuana!!!!! The van reeked of weed and nobody had the decency to take it out of service or give only to peopke in that business. My clothes, backpack and all I moved stink and I still have a headache from the odor and having to freeze my ass off running the ac and keeping the windows open to try and survive the odor. To make matters worse the handtruck I ordered that mr. Uhaul efficiency was supposed to provide eas not there and forced me to move very heavy furn pieces without the ease the handtruck would have and should have provided...my back pain is off the charts and I've now had to cancel critical plans for today as well as having to take all that can be washed, clothes moving blankets, and more to be washed. An expense I can't afford thanks to mr jerkoff, smug uhaul employee. I've rented many times from Uhaul and have always been met by winderful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable and always helpful people and until yesterday would never have considered doing business anywhere else. Depending on whether you or the GM at this location steps up and at the very least contacts me, I'll have no choice but to stop doing business with you and to advise all I know of the deplorable service, experience and what has yet to be seen, what yoy do about this matter.

I made a reservation to pick up a truck to move out of the area for 11:30, but when I arrived, they didn't have a truck available. The employee said the truck had been "marked down"/reserved, but someone at the store had changed it so it was sent out. The options they offered me were that I could wait until 12:45 when someone else was supposed to return their truck or I could drive to American Canyon and pick one up, which was at least an hour away. We came back at 12:45 and the truck still wasn't there! Luckily, it showed up about 15 min later (after the guy tried to convince us to take a bigger truck saying that the gas mileage it got would be the same as the smaller one), but it was definitely not cleaned out nor did they really seem to care that they didn't have their trucks back on time. There was also a female employee there who was absolutely rude to the other customers in the store; she obviously did not want to help them and gave the male employee assisting us attitude that he had brought her out to the front to help. It was pathetic and so frustrating dealing with them. I will never recommend this location to anyone in the area that's moving.

Self service check in not set up, had to go into office. I didnt mind, staff was awesome, but please don’t suggest that as an option when not available. My contract and keys were in the office on the wall so there was no intention of the self service option
