Downloaded u-haul app. Secured rental truck several days before. However, when picking up truck there was a multitude of questions! Was not user friendly. The employee at the counter even had trouble. Chose not to take out insurance. However, the summary showed a $30 charge. I was so frustrated with the whole process I said screwi it! The only thing I can say is “What a nightmare!”
Dan AThe dropoff was infuriating. The attendant was extremely nice and helpful, but nobody told me I was supposed to take pictures of the vehicle and submit them along with some sort of online checkout process. I don't have a smartphone, just a flip phone, so that approach was impossible. Also, since I was using the vehicle to move to a new home, I didn't have internet service (yet) at the new location. The attendant got me thru all that - again, she was great. But the whole setup was very irritating.
PETER GThe U-Haul app is terrible. Once you reserve a truck there are no directions how to pick up the truck (how early to arrive, what is required in pickup process, can I talk with human at pickup location). Had to initiate chat with U-Haul service to get directions (a video). Due to this lack of information truck was not able to be picked up on time and reservation got moved back 4 hours. Initial directions said I would get key out of lock box but at pickup I had to go into the business to to get a human to find the key in the lock box which the app did not identify a specific lock box.
