Make sure moving Vans are cleaned before another customer rents and KM is noted correctly. I don't even have the time to call in and dispute the extra charges on the KM. I am better off renting from somewhere else or different location dive the guy took so long to cost the contract.

The only problem was that the office at 1285 Kennedy Rd.was not open on time:10:00 AM. The person came at 10:15 AM and he took a long time to do the paper work, did no t check the van. My husband left this place around 10:50AM.

I've used UHaul before, so I don't hold anything against the company. However, I had a terrible experience at the New Civic Autos Inc location. The owner told me I had to get the insurance or he would not let me rent the vehicle, which I later found out to be incorrect. He also put the wrong KM and Gas down on the contract, and had I not double checked when I entered the van, I would have ended up paying much, much more than what was in the contract. The van was filthy, it was not swept out at all, and had this weird odour. There is too much more to type here, and I plan to call UHaul to make a complaint against this location.

I had to wait 1.5 hours to obtain my rental. The agent in question directed me contact uhaul over what turned out to be his inability to figure out how use his system. Uhaul's poor customer service starts at the top though--because I was bounced around to various agents, once without explanation--each time having to wait on hold.

Overall I had a terrible experience. I reserved my 10ft uHal moving truck on September 24th for the date of Saturday October 1st from 12-5pm with the 740 Warden Ave location. Four days later on September 28th someone from that location called me and said that the 10ft truck was stolen and all they had left for me was a pick up truck. I asked if the representative had checked other locations to see if they had a 10ft truck for me and he said he did check but no other locations had it. I was expected to move an entire one bedroom apartment in a pick up truck, on a Saturday that poured rain, moving from the core of downtown to Scarborough. The representative didn't allow for any discount and said he would "throw in a free tarp since it's raining that day". Finally I called uHal customer service Friday September 30th and I explained the situation and the rep found me a cargo van at the 1285 Kennedy Rd location from 12-7pm for October 1st. I had to take this offer since the 10ft truck was still not available anywhere. - On my moving day the place where I picked up the cargo van the person wasn't at the store and made me wait an hour to pick up the truck! And, of course, when I finally got to move my stuff, I had one hour left reservation with my elevator and had to travel several times from downtown to Scarborough because the cargo van could NOT fit my whole one bedroom, which increases my mileage costing me more money. I am so disappointed with my entire moving experience to say the very least. I will not recommend uHal to any one. This all could have been avoided if the first gentleman did not try and keep my business and passed me on to customer service who could have potentially found me another 10ft truck in between downtown Toronto and Scarborough. I felt like no one I talked to empathized with my situation. We all know moving is stressful as it is, but this was by far the worst move I've ever had (and I've moved more times than you can count on one hand).

I booked at downtown, I was changed to scarborough without notification. I was told that "the system" shows that I was notified by text and email that I was bumped to a new location after I had already made the reservation but I wasnt. This cost me $120 on taxi to and from scarborough since I live in downtown. I was also told by customer "service" when I called uhaul that "reservations are subject to availability" which is another way of saying "reservations don't mean anything"; if the only way I will get a truck is to show up at a location and they will give me a truck only if they have one available at that time, what is the point of making a reservation? In scarborough I was scheduled to pick up the truck at 9:30. The owner was not there at 9:30 and did not come until 10:35 causing me to miss 1 1/2 hour out of the 3 hours that I had booked the elevator at my place. When I called the owner at 9:30 he was at bed and said he will be there in 20 minutes but did not show up until 10:35 and stopped answering his phone. When he finally showed up I protested politely why he was late and he said "if you want to argue with me I don't have to serve you". When I was returning the truck the next day at 9:30 the owner was not there again. There was another fellow who had an appointment at 9:30 waiting there and was very frustrated. I told him my story. The owner finally showed up around 10:30. I was told by him the previous day that the charge for a cargo van is 49 cents per km but on the invoice it was 59 cents. When I asked why, he said "oh sorry I forgot to mention weekends it is 59 cents". In my *life* I did not deal with as many rude, ignorant and incompetent people that I dealt with in the past two days who worked for uhaul. I commend you for still making money with these employees and with this much insulting your customers. Very unique business model. I will spread the word.

awful experience.....from the lateness of the office opening .....to the incorrect amount of my bill....to the rudeness of the uhaul rep.......i would never....or recommend a rental from this company
