I had checked in using the U-Haul app, including taking pictures of my drivers license and adding my wife as an additional driver. The app did not ask for a picture of my wife’s license. When I arrived to pick up my he truck, the lady who checked me in was clueless. She acted like I didn’t have a reservation for the truck. She asked me every question I had furnished when I checked in through the app. Somehow she had an old email address of mine from five years ago. Also she said she needed a copy of my wife’s drivers license. My wife texted a copy to see he lady, but she couldn’t figure out how to add it to the reservation, so my wife had to make a trip to the location to present her license. The truck windshield, side windows and rear view mirrors were filthy. I had rented U-Haul equipment from this location in the past when there was a small building beside the gas station. I never had a problem then. That is why I decided to rent from this location again. However, now you rent from the counter inside the gas station from a person who needs obvious training. I’ll never use this location again.

I recently rented a U-Haul 26-foot truck for a long-distance move from St. George, Utah to Sequim, Washington — about 1,200 miles in total. Overall, the experience was solid. Truck Performance: The 26' truck is spacious and easily fit a full household of furniture and boxes. The loading ramp was a lifesaver, making it much easier to roll heavy items in and out. The truck had plenty of tie-down points inside to secure the load. While it’s a big vehicle, it handled well on highways and mountain passes. Acceleration was slow when fully loaded, but that’s expected with a truck this size. Braking felt safe and reliable throughout the trip. Comfort & Driving: The cab had enough room for three people, and the seats were reasonably comfortable for long days on the road. Noise levels were what you’d expect from a moving truck — not luxury quiet, but fine for the purpose. The mirrors gave good visibility, though blind spots take some getting used to. Fuel Economy: Be prepared: this truck drinks gas. Over the full trip of about 1,200 miles, I averaged 8–10 miles per gallon. With a full load, fuel stops were frequent, so it’s worth planning them in advance. Rental Process: The pickup and drop-off were straightforward. Staff explained the truck features clearly and documented any existing scratches before I left. Returning was quick — a simple inspection and I was on my way. Pros: Huge storage capacity, perfect for large moves Easy-to-use ramp and tie-down options Reliable handling and braking, even on mountain roads Roomy cab for 2–3 people Cons: Very thirsty on fuel Can be intimidating if you’ve never driven a big truck Ride is a bit rough compared to smaller trucks Overall: The U-Haul 26-foot truck proved to be a dependable option for moving a full household across state lines. Despite the fuel costs, it was worth it to fit everything in one trip and drive with confidence. If you need space and reliability, this truck gets the job done.
