The truck had not been cleared of ice and snow when I arrived at a previously set time. No one reviewed the truck features with me or came anywhere near the truck once giving me the key.

The parking lot is on a grade so the fuel read incorrectly and they charged me. If I had parked the truck the other way it would have looked over filled. I figured they understood this but they didn’t and I got charged for low fuel
William MDangerous and Unacceptable Experience – U-Haul Must Do Better I’ve rented U-Haul trucks many times and always had great experiences—until now. This recent rental was not just disappointing; it was downright dangerous. Here’s what happened: 1. Unsafe Parking Lot The lot was covered in ice and not cleared. I slipped and fell while trying to access the truck. The store camera will show this, as an employee rushed out immediately. This could have been a serious injury—a disaster barely avoided. 2. Fuel Tank Almost Empty The truck had almost no fuel. I showed a photo to the counter staff, who told me “don’t worry we’ll fix the fuel level.” The low-fuel light however came on as soon as I left the lot. For a large truck that burns fuel fast, this is unacceptable and extremely risky. Another disaster narrowly avoided. 3. Tire Monitor Alarm Within minutes, the “Service Tire Monitor System” alarm appeared. I had to pull off the highway, check tires, and waste time at a gas station. When I reported it, staff admitted they knew about the issue. Why wasn’t I warned or given a different truck? This cost me time and added stress during short winter daylight hours. 4. Steering Misalignment On a straight highway, the truck kept drifting right. The steering wheel was off by 10–15 degrees. This is a major safety hazard, especially in winter conditions. Yet another potential disaster. 5. Engine Noise and Vibration The truck made loud, abnormal noises and shook at speeds around 90 km/hr. Clearly, this vehicle was not properly maintained. Bottom Line: Four serious safety hazards in one rental. This is unacceptable. U-Haul needs to take responsibility for vehicle maintenance and customer safety. I strongly urge U-Haul to review its processes immediately.
ACHINTA HThe man at the desk was friendly. What I’m upset about is when I got to my location to do my pick up, I rolled up the back door and a crack tube rolled out and on to the ground. In the driveway of my destination. I have a picture of it and put it in a ziplock bag. I want the head office to contact me this week as this was not only embarrassing it was dangerous.
MICHAEL HService was professiona however. def felt mislead about the rates and pricing from a $19.95 rental to $119.00 invoice. Should be more realistic. Also I was charged a fuel surcharge for $9.37 when i returned the truck with more gas in it then when I took it.
