The pickup location was changed by U Haul the day before we were to pick up the truck. If a reservation is made for a specific location, I don't understand how U Haul can change it- what is the purpose of a reservation and picking a specific location? Other than that, the pick up and drop off process went very smooth; the truck was new and worked perfectly for our requirements.

I rent a lot of ATs from U-Haul. The ones I rent from Raven are always the dingiest and in the worst condition in all of U-Haul. Due to this I try to avoid Raven at all costs. This time I was desperate and needed an AT quickly and there wasn't another available for over 30 miles. I don't know if U-Haul gives Raven the worst equipment or if Raven doesn't care to contact U-Haul when things break on them. This time around I had AT1726X. When I arrived at Raven to pick up an AT, they assigned me to AT1726X because the other AT at their dealer had 2 flat tires. As for AT1726X, the emergency brake was activated when we went to connect it to my vehicle. The representative told me that the brakes "didn't work on this one anyway" but he would put it down and I should drive it over to the shop's overhead door. I was able to drive it right over without any issues, confirming in fact that the emergency brakes were not in working order. He tried in vain for 20 minutes to put the emergency brake "tab" down before finally being successful. The entire time during my rental I was worried about something going wrong with the trailer or the brakes. Also, if someone returned it that way, wouldn't you want to go out and do this ahead of time so as to not waste time when a customer is standing there watching you struggle? If the brakes were not working, wouldn't you want to mark it as out of service so U-Haul wouldn't rent it online? I finally headed out, but never got a text from U-Haul (as usual) to confirm condition. I asked the U-Haul rep and he informed me that they no longer ask for condition when you buy safe tow. So I left without thoroughly inspecting the trailer since I had already waited 20 minutes to get the brake tab down. Finally, the other unfortunate thing about AT1726X was that the passenger side wheel strap (that goes over the front tire of the towed car) was extremely frayed and partially ripped. I discovered this after I had loaded the vehicle onto it. There is no way this was going to be safe, but I had no choice as I was not about to be able to easily swap this AT for another at the dealer. This dealer's inventory needs to be reviewed for safety more frequently, I never run into these issues when I rent from the other larger dealers in the area. Finally despite returning the trailer last night, I got the text this morning asking me to confirm condition before I headed out on my rental. Then got my receipt this afternoon. While the times and charges were correct, I can't help but wonder if I was operating the trailer without a valid rental contract in U-Haul's system.

ERIK KI drove the transport from the UHaul location to pick up the vehicle. I loaded it - and then found one of the four tires was flat. I located a compressor and filled it. It leaked slowly. I made it back to the location and the location owner apologized. What should have been a 90 minute experience turned into 6 hours.
