The online system to check the truck back in after hours was down due to “planned maintenance.” It would have been nice to know about this in advance. Also, the truck smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.

If I have a reservation for a trailer, please don’t tell me when I get there that it isn’t there and I have to go to another dealer to pick one up. That’s not right. If I make a reservation to eat at Luigi’s Bistro, when I get there I’m told to go to Tony’s Pizzeria, I’m not going to be very happy

Late night chec-out took forever had to try multiple times before it would work. Stop putting so much on the customer. Don't be a stupid company that does that. Be a smart company. Don't be a stupid company. The world is already stupid enough. So DONT BE STUPID UHAUL!!!! Execs pull your head out of your asses and make stuff easy for your employees and customers on the ground!!!!! You know the stuff they didn't teach you in college when you were doing keg stands on your parents money. YOU STOOOOPID EXECUTIVES!!! LOL

Similar in some ways to our pick-up experience, our drop off experience left us very disappointed -- not because of the service at the S. Lake Tahoe location, but again because of the last minute changes that U-Haul dispatch and the Incline Village location imposed on us. We called dispatch the night before and were told we could drop off at the Incline Village location. When we arrived at that location, they refused to allow us to return the vehicle there and forced us to drive to South Lake Tahoe -- another 25 mi distance. To make matters worse, they acted as if we were the problem for trying to return the vehicle to the 'wrong place' -- when in fact we'd confirmed the night before with U-Haul dispatch that Incline Village was our drop off point. U-Haul ... U Got Problems with your dispatch system, and you'd better figure them out. We're not happy with this part of the experience -- though your truck, and your locations that we did end up at were fine.
