To Whom It May Concern: I was very dissatisfied with my U-Haul experience a few weeks ago. It was the worse service I have ever received from U-Haul. I have used U-Haul for all of my moves and never had I experienced such poor customer service like I did this time around. I made a reservation December 2018 for a 10-foot moving van and an auto transport. My reservation number was 80740081. I made the reservation over the phone with U-Haul online. I was specific in my request to have a pick-up location closer to my zip code in Lansing, MI 48911. The representative assured me the day before pick-up I would receive confirmation from U-Haul with the nearest pick-up location. The nearest pick-up location for me was 5020 S. Cedar St. Lansing, MI 48910. This location is literally down the street from my old apartment. My scheduled day for pick-up was December 26, 2018 for the 3511 N. East Street Lansing, MI 48906 location which was 20 minutes from my house. I contacted U-Haul online and was routed to the scheduling manager to discuss changing the location to Cedar Street but I was told that it could not be done the day of because the new store may not have the equipment. I explained that the East Street pick-up location was very inconvenient for me because of the distance and the circumstances I had with my movers. The representative said there was nothing she could do therefore I went to the East Street location to pick-up the equipment and truck. At this point I was extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with how everything was going but I had no choice because I had to get everything moved by a specific time that day. The representative who checked me in at the East Street location advised me to return to the store after packing the truck to put my car on the auto transport. I told him that would not be possible because of the distance and time frame of the move. He contacted the Cedar Street location to see if they had an auto transporter that I could pick up there later. The Cedar Street location agreed to let me pick up the auto transporter they had at their location. The East Street representative charged me for the truck only which I did not find out until later. I am not sure why he did not charge me for both the truck and the auto transporter on one transaction but he did not and I had to pay for the auto transporter at the Cedar Street location which was not the plan because I had a $40 gift certificate for the entire purchase and because he split the equipment up into two transactions it affect the discount I received. I was livid when I realized I still had to pay money when I picked up the auto transporter. Because both the truck and transporter should’ve been one transaction like the reservation. This means that I was charged taxes twice and I did not anticipate this. I was unexpectantly forced to pay more money than I had anticipated which is not right. Have Dana, Taylor and Jason there more often! They're awesome! Also, it would be helpful for customers to know they're transferred to someone offsite when the phone isn't immediately picked up. It would cut down on confusion. Taylor was extremely helpful in assisting me to find the right vehicle for my needs. Dana was very professional and clear in the process and made sure that everything was right from start to finish, then with Jason when I completed my rental. Thanks!

The location was nice and truck was clean but didn’t seem maintained very well. We had a horrible drive in it and the motor was making a loud noise. Nothing to do with location just the truck in general.

Do not like the check out process. I had to put a debit/credit card on hold. I told several times I wasn’t using that card to pay. They said that’s fine let us know at time of final payment. I got back with truck the person said Im going to go check the truck. I was at counter waiting to pay and he said its been paid for on card you had on file. How can that be when I haven’t been checked out. He said when I checked the truck in I ran your card. He wasn’t even at the counter. I thought he was checking truck for damage snd cleanliness and coming back in to finalize payment. Not happy about the transaction. Actually very upset about the whole ordeal.

The only complaint is that the fuel was on less than an 1/8 of a tank at pick up. I felt it should’ve been a little higher than that.

The young lady I dealt with on entering store was very rude and seemed a bit snappy when I was asking questions on charges I was trying to get some understanding on certain charges dealing with my card since I was sent there thru another dealer attitude was very rude I must say but the manager of the store was very nice held a conversation and made sure everything was ok on his end

Would be nice to be able to not have gotten billed for a second day when I was only 3 hours late in my return. Gas mileage on truck was terrible, I spent 20 dollars to add about a third of a tank. Aside from that, everything went smooth, great staff, etc.
