While checking in, I asked about discounts for people who have AAA or AARP and was told the agent does not give discounts...that I would have to talk to UHaul about that. If I am not mistaken, there is an area on the online reservation application that ask if you are a member of one or the other, in order to recieve a discount on your rental. I went out to get in the truck. It was dirty...outside and inside. Bed of truck had two old oil bottles as well as dirt left in it. It obviously had not been swept by the last renter "or" a UHaul representative. I have always left rental vehicles the same way as I received them...no trash and at least swept out. And again, I left it in the same condition as when I picked it up...nasty. I had a three hour trip to and from my destination, but I was considerate enough not to add to the trash already left in the truck. When I opened the door to get in, the floor mats were very dirty and there was a lot of dirt all along the bottom door tracts. There was a half full bottle of water laying on the floor of the passengers side, along with a dirty napkin, and trash in both sides door pockets. The seat appeared to have some animal hair stuck to the seat, which of course was gone when I turned the truck in due to the fact that it had stuck to my belongings and coat laying next to me. The gas guage read 1/4 of a tank which meant I had to stop and purchase gas early into my trip. I have never rented a vehicle that was not already "full of gas" and "clean" when I have traveled before. Generally you "top off the tank after your trip". When having to replace what you use, its hard to judge how much to put back in when it is only partially full when you pick it up. I would think that other customers, like myself, replace more gas than necessary. I guess that saves UHaul on gas!! No effort had been made to prepair the vehicle for rental. However, this was the first time I have rented from UHaul and not received a clean vehicle and one that was full of gas. I went back into the office and was told that they get the vehicles from UHaul and get the customer checked in...they have absolutely nothing to do with the cleanliness of the vehicles...that the customer should do that!! The truck itself drove and rode nice and I had no other issues other than the dirty condition of the vehicle and only a fourth tank of gas to start my trip. I have used UHaul many times over the years, but will have to really think about using them again or going to the same pickup location if I do. I was very disappointed with my experience!!!!

Had a 9am pick up time and place didn't open till 9:15. When he finally arrived he told me he only made $8 for coming in to open up to give me truck and wasn't worth his time. Never apologized for being late and acted like I was at fault.

This UHAUL drop off Dealer did not close out my ticket causing me to receive two calls from UHaul customer Care and two calls from a Statesville Dealer saying I did not return the 5X8 Trailer. I was at work when I received the four calls and it was very disturbing especially when I had already returned the trailer a day earlier than i was supposed to.
