My recent rental experience was extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable. When I picked up the truck, the cab had a very strong odor of marijuana. The smell was obvious the moment I opened the door and was strong enough that it remained overwhelming while driving the vehicle. I immediately brought this to the attention of the employees at the rental location before leaving with the truck. I was told they were already aware of the odor and was simply offered an air freshener. That response was frustrating and unprofessional. An air freshener does not remove the odor of marijuana from a vehicle, and knowingly renting a truck in that condition shows a lack of concern for customers and basic vehicle standards. Beyond the unpleasant smell itself, there are serious issues this situation creates for a customer. Driving a vehicle that smells strongly of marijuana could easily lead to misunderstandings if stopped by law enforcement or if an accident occurred. The odor alone could create suspicion that the driver had been using marijuana in the vehicle, which puts the renter in an unfair and uncomfortable position through no fault of their own. Customers should never be placed in a situation where they have to worry about legal or reputational issues simply because the rental vehicle was not properly inspected and cleaned. The odor was so overwhelming that I chose to complete my moving tasks in one trip and return the truck early just so I could stop driving in those conditions. That should never be necessary when renting from a national company like U-Haul. I expected a clean, neutral, and professionally maintained vehicle, and what I received fell far short of that expectation. If U-Haul truly wants to improve the experience for future customers, there needs to be a strict inspection and sanitation process before any truck is rented out again. If a vehicle smells like marijuana, smoke, or any other strong odor, it should be taken out of service and thoroughly cleaned or deodorized before the next customer receives it. Additionally, employees should be empowered to swap vehicles immediately when a customer raises a concern like this instead of offering temporary fixes like air fresheners. This experience left me very dissatisfied with this rental, and it has made me question whether I will continue using U-Haul for my future moving or rental needs. I hope the company takes situations like this seriously and implements better quality control standards so that other customers do not have to deal with the same issue.

The location and service is ok, however the condition of the truck was not, the one I got has roof leaks. It was raining and it had leaks inside, I made sure no water came trough the roll up door, and even with that my stuff ended up wet, even on the very top of the truck (the extension of the truck that is above the driver).
