Did not have a one-way truck ready for us. We were on a tight schedule to pick up materials at a certain time so the timed reservation was important to us. The guy was more concerned about his emissions customers without a reservation than us that had a timed reservation. He canceled our original reservation and rented us a truck that we had to bring back to same location which now cost us more money and more in gas. And the truck left us stranded 3 times on the highway. Called customer service to get price adjustment at least back to my original contract price and for the $50 reservation guarantee but get put on perpetual hold. This was the worst rental experience I've ever had and not what I expected from the UHaul name.

The vehicle i rented had a very bad missfire going on. This probably cost me more money in fuel than if it was running correctly. I could smell raw fuel from the exhaust. Because of time restraints and other people waiting on me i could not return to exchange the vehicle. There was writing on the windshield dated back to last year where it was impounded. Everything else was very good. Friendly customer service and quick/easy transaction. I would definitly rent from Sun Emission again. I would not be in such a rush next time.

1. Prior to rental I found myself needing a trailer at the very last minute so I called U-Haul customer service and the woman who helped me I believe her name was Andrea was exceptional. She helped locate the trailer that I needed at a location that was convenient to me and still open after 6 p.m. she informed me that by making the reservation over the phone that the unit would be ready for me to pick up. I ended up being at the U-Haul facility for over 35 minutes. Maybe I misunderstood what ready to be picked up meant. 2. Rented me a ball hitch for $5 a day only to find out that it was never charged on my Uhaul contract but as part of his individual business which relieves Uhaul of any liabilities however I seriously doubt if something failed he would warrant his equipment. Shaft on the ball holder was way too small for my receiver after informing the gentleman the make and model of my truck prior to rental. Because of my personal time constraint I opted to use what he had offered me just to get me to Home Depot where I had to spend $30 hours to purchase an adapter and a reliable hitch pin because the pin that he provided was resemblance of a coat hanger what was not any thicker than number 9 wire. 3. Through all of this so far the gentleman never left his office to come out and do a trailer inspection nor did he advise me on how to hook the trailer up to the vehicle and obviously he didn't help lifting the trailer onto my truck. This is very important for everyone to know that some U-Haul trailers do not have jacks and that should be indicated prior to rental. The 6 by 12 cargo trailer is pretty heavy and pretty awkward to manipulate by oneself. 4. I did not know that the trailer was not supposed to have a jack so the very next morning I called customer service and asked about it in which I was transferred to the Roadside Assistance Department and the person explain to me that it's standard for the trailer to not have a jack. At that time while I had someone's attention I inquired about turning the trailer in within the time frame of 29 hours vs 24. I asked the representative if they would prorate the extra hours or would I be charged a full extra day. The answer was that my contract can be modified and I would not be charged the full extra day. I was then transferred to a different customer service representative to begin the contract modification only to find out at the time I had spent on the phone with the previous representative was all false information. So the last representative informed me that once you're over 24 hours you will be billed for an additional day. These types of inconsistencies and information leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. Not to mention the lack of assistance from the facility who rented me the unit. It took me an additional 35 minutes to wrestle that trailer onto the hitch rented to me that was too small. There was a mechanical problem with the unit. The Tow/Haul status would not turn off when you push the button on he end of the stem like it normally will with these results. This made thevehicle annoying to drive and undoubtedly increased the fuel consumption. The cargo door was also harder than normal to pull down. Perhaps it needs lubrication?

Verbal communication was poor at this location. The rental agent should clearly communicate all terms of the rental agreement to the customer before asking them to sign it. ALL terms. Accurately. There should be no surprises to the customer, no charges on the final receipt that were not made clear to the customer beforehand or that are different from what the customer was told.
