Lack of available truck/ trailer within 30 miles for one way rental. Scheduling Dept. had wrong information on available trailer at closer location. Drop off location only had one worker for a Saturday morning. He was overwhelmed. Took 20 minutes to check in trailer.

The staff at pick-up was very polite and helpful, it was nice doing business with them. The problem is with the corporate level and their reservation service. They do not listen and will not garentee you can get the equipment you want from any locations near you. They wanted to send us some 20 plus miles away. So it required us changing our plans and what we used. This management service leaves allot to be desired.

At first I tried to do the express checkout using my iPhone but the process was taking so long, that I decided to shift instead to having my checkout of the vehicle process by the store counter staff. It was much faster with the U-Haul staff in front of me face to face helping me.

Not the locations fault but we had reserved a trailer in Turlock, Ca but when we got the reservation had to go to Modesto. The morning we were supposed to pick up the trailer they did not have one and had to go to Stockton which is about an hour each way from where we live. Not a happy customer.

Personnel at this location were efficient, kind. and helpful. We had a nightmare experience at The U-Haul storage location in Stockton on Tam O‘Shanter. After renting us a storage unit with blue rat poison all over the floor we left the Shanter location; driving to & renting at the Manteca location right before closing. They did a bait and switch the following day, calling & offering to give us one days credit for causing us to turn in the truck late due to not having a storage unit. We drove to Mabteca, planning to rent, where Akejandro was extremely nice. Chris from O‘Shanter called offering to rent us a clean storage unit with 1 day truck credit. They gave us the same dirty unit but has swept up the rat poison. They took forever with each new customer & the women working there were very rude, particularly the taller woman. We both had no sleep from the stress & missing our $500 flight. My partner lost his key to get out. They refused his calls from his phone & their emergency button on the keyed entry. When he finally got out they charged $5.00 for a new plastic entry card. When we got to Wilson Way to turn in the truck they had NOT even given us the day‘s $40 credit. Kristine at Wilson Way efficiently & kindly returned our truck & gave us 2 day‘s credit. At O‘Shanter Chris claimed he was only allowed to credit us 1 day. Use Wilson Way & Manteca but avoid Tam O‘Shanter location. My partner & I are both veterans & West Point graduates. Beware veterans of the Tam O’Shanter location.,

I was not given my Driver's Lic back, it was left on the counter. It would have been great to have received a call or email letting me know about it. It wasn't until I called the next day to inquire about dropping off the truck that the rep told me I had left my driver's lic on the counter. For this reason, I gave you only below average ratings.

I was not given a receipt to review when I checked out, in part this is my fault for being tired from moving for two days. If I had a receipt I would have noticed I got charged for using the utility dolly (for two days), for which I did not use. As a matter a fact, the cable tie was still attached when I went over the truck with your employee. When we went inside she just told me how much, and I paid. I guess I was just too tired and too trusting. Please ensure the employees go over the expenses. Thank you so much.



The call center reserved a truck for me and when I showed up to get it, the truck was not available and the location downsized me to a pickup. Then I was charged for 2 days when only having the car for less than 24 hrs. I called at night to extend the timeframe due to the smaller truck and they told me I was given 24 hrs but I received a phone call from the store manager in the following morning telling me the information was incorrect and I would be charged the additional day. I plan on calling and filing a formal complaint as the call center and the store location are not aligned and did not make this convenient for me nor did they offer anything to help when my truck was not available before I asked. A customer should not be penalized when calling and reserving a truck or asking for an extension if the call center is not giving accurate information for what aligns with the store itself. The store staff were not friendly or understanding in my frustration.

My desired pickup location was not setup and after I called in to have it switched the rep told me it was corrected. Three days later I called to verify just Incase and the new rep said nothing was ever switched and they had no truck available in my location. I agreed on a different pickup spot even though I was lied to. I show up on the morning of pickup and my truck was not back yet... left an hour later than anticipated after another truck was assigned. If it wasn’t for me staying on top of the situation then I would’ve had no truck to move this weekend.

This individual tried to charge me an additional 4-5 dollars for mileage overage, until I explained what had occurred at the Hayward location??? Why did I have to go through this nightmare of a rental process, in a very stressful time, moving from one city to another, only to be met with incompetent employees of U-Haul ???
