David BI had an absolute horrible experience renting a truck. I prepaid to reserve a truck to pick up furniture an hour away from my home. When we got to the location, I received an error message stating, "Looks like a piece of equipment has not been assigned for this reservation. Please contact the number below for assistance." What is the point of paying for a reservation if nothing is reserved??? Then I was left on hold at that number for over 45 minutes!! We eventually had to look up a different number, where we were on hold for 15 minutes before someone answered. When we finally spoke with someone, we were told to travel to a completely different UHaul location in an unfamiliar city to pick up a truck. When we got to that location, I received another error message in the app and had to call customer service again. Again we endured a long wait time. The customer service rep ended up having to make a new reservation for us. Then we had to wait another half hour while they verified my information. By the time we finally got a truck, we were extremely late for our furniture pickup appointment and ended up having to meet the person at an entirely different location AND pay a late fee! To add further insult to injury, I was charged an extra $72 for extra mileage, when if I had been able to pick up the truck at the location I first reserved and go to my appointment at the planned location, there would have been no extra mileage! I will never use this service again! It was a complete nightmare from start to finish!
