This is absolutely one of the worst experiences I've ever had when dealing with a company. My pick-up time was 10 AM, but because of global U-Haul server issues, I was able to get going after 11:30 AM. You systems were unable to process any information, while the worker seemed helpless, but he was very rude and unhelpful, doing the bare minimum. We (a bunch of customers) asked if we could provide a deposit or write down our information on paper. He said it was not possible and that WE should call U-Haul. Thankfully, the owner showed up (I'm assuming this is a franchise or similar) and called U-Haul to get permission to confirm if we could provide our info on paper. The worker said he would do so. However, he required EVERYONE (the customers) to leave the physical copy of our licenses, and lied he way through saying that it was ok and legal as long as we had a copy. Given the circumstances, everyone said yes. But later, I check, and in Ontario, you MUST have your physical driver's license to drive. Later, when I returned the truck and got my license back, he rudely told me to fold the blankets. I had not noticed the sign inside the truck. After I folded the blankets, he told I had to bring the dolley and blankets inside or I would be charged, again in a very rude way. I told him to not talk to me like that, since he did not tell me in the first place they had to be stowed inside the building. He then refused his name to make a complaint. Finally, because I think he was pissed, he charged me a 12 litre fuel usage even though I only drove FOUR MILES. So this U-Haul experience made a move day (which is already stressful) super stressful and expensive. I know have to deal with this fuel surcharge. I WIL NEVER USE U-HAUL AGAIN

The yard and office are dirty and cluttered. I was experiencing problems with the a/c and an odd sound coming from the engine, so I returned to the dealer to advise them. I was told that, because a different person released the vehicle to me, there was nothing to be done. Disappointing.
FRANKIE ITruck was parked so you couldn't take the required pictures without manoeuvring it in a small area to do so. Truck was dirty inside. Someone used it to haul wood previously and it was not swept out. I didn't figure this out until I had taken all of the pictures. When I was offered a different van (presumably cleaner, but I didn't look), there was no point as it would take less time for me to clean the inside of the truck than for me to take all those pictures again. Just clean the the truck beforehand please.
