I opted for no insurance because I was only going down the street and back. Yet, I was still charged and not allowed to change this. This is very cheeky and not right. it may only be $15 but that is not the point. the point is that I choice something and your company still charged me. I will never use U-haul again.

What I didn't like at all was that we got there ten minutes before our booking (like the email said) and then the actual process to take the truck out was 45 minutes, which made as lose tons of time.

We were told to expect a U-Haul location with space to park the truck. This was a photo store in a commercial neighborhood with hardly any signage. The operator was shockingly rude and acted upset that we had not parked the truck illegally so he wouldn't have to walk half a block. He was dismissive of our concerns about the vehicle. I couldn't wait to leave. Next time we're paying for movers.

The owner was on time, helpful and very professional from start to finish. He got me out the door efficiently in just about 3 minutes, and was empathetic when I was stuck in traffic and returned the vehicle 30 minutes late. For anyone in the Dunbar area, I would recommend Photo Station for your U-Haul.

Experience with the agent/location was good. Experience with the reservation system and phone system was bad. Being initially charged for excessive mileage was really bad. At least that was somewhat fixed, but there was no followup to verify, confirm that I was satisfied. Overall experience in dealing with U-Haul has dropped significantly since my last experiences many years ago.

There was no issue with the pickup location - in fact Suki was very helpful, very accomodating and communicative. The only issue was an overall Uhaul issue in that Dunbar was extremely far away from where we needed to be, and the only time available to pick it up was far later than we needed it, and we couldn't drop it off once we were done with it as the store had closed. Uhaul needs to fix its procedures - when it asks people to select pick up location and time, it allows us to select times which AREN'T available. Hotels don't let you book rooms or days that AREN'T available, why should uhaul? If you booked a hotel room for a city and a date, and then received a call saying that date wasn't available and that time wasn't available, and presented with alternative options, you would not be impressed. Uhaul is a global company, you have the resources to invest in better UX design and better software that only allows people to select dates and times that are available. Selecting online then receiving a call from uhaul AND an email from the independent rental store is extremely inefficient, and there are plenty of ways uhaul could invest in improving their online user experience.

Unfortunate to be buckle and dined on the gas. The person writing down how much gas was in van prior to departure guessed at how full it was. When I returned with the fuel gage where it was when I initially left he hard balled me on it. Not a great experience for a first time renter. Unlikely to use again if this is common practice.
