I was talking the trailer from Wisconsin to Texas and was rented the oldest one in the lit. When we unloaded it half of my belongings were soaking wet due to it leaking when we had to drive through rain. Take into consideration the length of the trip instead of trying to just make a dollar. $250.00 for a one way rental really is not justified when your belongings are damaged and the insurance only covers damage to your property, the trailer.

I had to drive 65 miles to pick up the truck. That is not acceptable considering I had reserved a truck three weeks in advance. An effort should have been made to have a truck available at the Decorah location or one closer, not 65 miles away. I am 81 years old and did not appreciate having to drive that far to pick the truck.

I did not receive your email regarding what to do after I filled out the info on line, however, that may have been on my end as I had internet issues the next day on my phone. It is a small town, closed on Sundays, but thankfully I was able to find the key and complete our move. (An emergency phone number to call, just in case, would have been perfect.) Otherwise, everything was very nicely done and ready and worked out perfectly.

My pick up time was set for 1230. I arrived at 1215. However the worker took a lunch break shortly after 12 and did not return until 1. He was very unapologetic for making me wait.



They typically do not have moving blankets, so either rent them from another facility or have some of your own. Otherwise great people!!

It took a long time to go through the checkout process (taking photos, etc.) before I could drive the truck. Instructions on how to do it were sent the day before and I did not have time to review. Sending these a few days earlier would have helped tremendously. I thought the process would take less than 10 minutes, but in reality was more than 30 minutes and so I lost rental time. Need to make this more customer friendly!

The left headlight was not bright enough to light up the road. It was hard to know how to use the lights- headlights, dashboard light and cargo bay interior lights.

First I would like to say that Travis in La Crescent, MN was nothing but nice, kind, sincere and very helpful. He was professional and considerate and I would like to give him 5 stars for trying to accommodate our reservation. I have no problem giving him positive feedback and being a repeat customer for just him. Secondly, I would like to give Mark in Viroqua, WI 5 stars as well because he was very helpful once we arrived at his business to get us on our way quickly. Who I would like to give a ‘zero’ star to would be U-Haul’s MN regional office manager, Jodie. I received a phone call from her 3 days before our rental, and she curtly listed 2 other locations I could choose to pick-up our reserved 5 by 8 cargo trailer at and, did not explain why, just that they would not have this trailer at our reserved location. I had reserved to pick-up this trailer up in La Crescent at Tri-State Auto Center and had just spoken to Travis the day prior to confirm pick-up. Imagine my surprise when Jodie curtly told me I could choose either Viroqua, WI or Winona, MN, to pick this trailer up, which both locations are over 45 minutes away from us. She was curt, brisk, very abrupt and very very short and did not care to even hear me ask a question. I tried to ask why the change was occurring to our reservation and Jodie rudely interrupted me each time I tried to ask a question. She said this was a busy time for college students moving and when you make a reservation, their U-Hauls are not guaranteed for availability at your chosen location at the time of reservation. I wanted to know why someone else’s reservation would trump mine when I made my reservation a month in advance but she did not care to listen to anything I had to say. Each time I tried to speak she rudely interrupted me and said she was not going to discuss this with me. When I told her she was curt she said she was not and ‘very briskly’ said I had better hurry up and decide on my pick-up location because otherwise I would lose out on even being able to rent a trailer as these trailer sizes would be gone. Seriously, my son was using this trailer to drive from WI to Denver, we made the reservation a month in advance and they can just yank your reservation from you to another location. She also said we live in a remote area so that was part of the change. When I was actually allowed to speak a few words and told her we were not in a remote area and to Google the distance between the 2 cities she scoffed and rudely told me she was from MN and knew the state and did not need to Google anything. I beg to differ, because she would know that La Crescent, MN is only 4 miles from La Crosse, WI and both are populated areas and not small towns. What is the point of making a reservation if they can just change it a few days prior? Travis, who was so nice from Tri-State Auto in La Crescent, loses out on the revenue from this transaction as he has no say when U-Haul chooses to change a reserv

I was thrilled to secure a rental online in La Crosse, WI for the move of my college graduate. The location was several miles away and we had many logistics to deal with in managing flights out of Milwaukee, WI for out of town family. Imagine my receipt of a phone call just prior to the graduation ceremony telling me that there were no trailers of the type I had reserved and I would have to drive 35 miles one way to pick up a trailer much bigger than what I ordered (6x12 vs. 5x8). I was given a nice discount on the rental fee, but this set us back quite a bit. We actually were able to secure a 5x8 once we arrived and it was very adequate for our needs. The time delay, however, almost resulted in missed flights out of Milwaukee. The distance and other logistics resulted in a near 2 hour delay. Also, in the phone conversation with the representative, I had clearly asked fora 9:00 pickup time, yet several times I was asked if I could pick a trailer up at 2:00 or 5:00. I now understand you do not have precise details on the return time of a trailer, but I was very dependent upon that time. I would have like to have more advance notice that my needs could not be met.
