Trucks should be brought to the front of the building when rented. It would be a chance for the employee to do a somewhat walk around of safety items such as tires and mirrors.

Make the return process a little more clear (maybe sandwich board signs directing where to go)

The vehicle was on empty when i picked it up. would rather get used to the vehicle a bit prior to maneuvering into a gas station.

The visor was broken. The mirrors were so tight, they wouldn’t move. I have pictures of the visor if you need them. You shouldn’t even be keeping those vehicles.

I put too much gas in truck, leaving 3/4 tank instead of 3/8. Difficult to gauge how much to put in. Do I get reimbursed?

Signage to help find trucks when using 24/7 service would help. Painted letters/numbers on the parking lot weren't super obvious to me.

Called to see if I could keep truck extra day. Said no. Booked another truck different location. Called for pickup said there was none available. Truck I dropped off was available. Drove 59 extra miles out of my way to rent same truck. Manager told me it wasn’t her problem. I didn’t speak to her since she just got there....

I was VERY UPSET with this experience. It was not due to the location or the service- they were quite helpful. It had to do with trying out the app to pick up the truck. I was prompted to add a secondary contact- as usual for an emergency contact, I put my mom down. The app said 'waiting for so and so to approve your photo'. Then, I get notice that they've CALLED MY CONTACT! They called them! That this was a requirement somehow- that as a 37 year old grown woman, I provided an emergency contact, not expecting anyone to be called. My mom is not a quick phone answerer, and she is at a camp in Minnesota, and she did not pick up the phone. Now the representative is asking for another contact person who WILL pick up and answer the phone! I felt that my privacy was violated. I did not get any kind of notice that my contact would be called. I did not know they would be called, so I did not prepare anyone for a call. It was 8am, and I was trying the app in order to check out quicker. What the hell?! I could provide multiple people for you to call, but why? They aren't liable for my truck rental! How can I rent a car with my driver's license and credit card and be ok on my own credit, and for a u-haul I have to provide a phone number for another person? What if you don't have another person that can be called? I ended up going inside to the desk to check out, and became even more incensed when THEY told me they needed to call someone too, and that the policy was to 'prevent people from stealing the trucks'. Now, I am self employed, and so this 'employer' contact was not accepted. They said the only way to get around this is to bring in your passport. If I had known this, I would have brought my passport. I still don't understand how a passport is a better deterrent to 'stealing a truck' than a driver's license and a credit card. This is a violation of privacy and completely unnecessary to require a phone call of a responsible adult.

They over charged me. Charged me 100 deposit plus stold $41.15 out of my debit card. Rude manager. Thief’s and liars. Someone needs to call me ASAP

Very good service. I love that I can start the paperwork online so getting the keys/truck is an easy experience.

I have rented from u-haul for all three of our moves. However I will never do it again. Luckily I was told by others to take pictures of the vehicle each time at pick up because they were always in terrible condition, which all three times upon return I was accused of causing. Every time I was told the vehicle had a certain amount of gas and when I asked if they wanted to verify that they said t didn’t really matter. Then upon return they tried to charge me for more gas as well. Luckily I took pictures of that too. If I didn’t know any better I would guess u-haul was a complete scam company. You should never be greeted with “what the hell did you do to our truck?!” Instead of “hello, good morning!” especially when it’s pre-existing damage! I don’t know if you have an acceptable rating with the BBB but if you do, you shouldn’t. You should all be seriously ashamed of what your company has become.

The staff was excellent, just not enough of them! This store is always understaffed, unorganized and unwelcoming. Our cargo van was new and ran great for our son's move to college, however, the flooring mat had oil in the grooves that had not been cleaned out. Luckily it was only on a beach towel and a desk surface, not his mattress. The attendant was very apologetic. Please get more help for this store!

I will tell anyone talking about using U-Haul about the strong arm tactics toward payment and other issue you may have with your usage of their facility, as well as your organization bulling toward the elderly, I had a bad experience with the facility in Lansing, from dealing with payments to staff being rude, disrespectful, and strong arm behavior to customers!!!

I initially scheduled online at a different location. location was closed for our pickup time. poor planning by uhaul website. also, don't make people use the app for after hours return. it's a pain in the ass and takes forever.

the air conditioning did not work. It was a very hot and humid day to be stuck on the freeway as it was closed due to an accident for four hours with no air. when I reported the air not working I was told ok we will place it in the notes. no thank you ,I'm sorry can I offer you a discount or we will make sure it gets fixed. Poor service

Extremely Upset with your service, My family and I was lied to numerous times prior to renting equipment, We were told due to having to rent a trailer to haul our car that once done packing the truck I could then return and have their staff hookup the trailer and put my car on it and hook my car to the trailer and yet when we arrived the supervisor there claimed he could not do it due to liablity reasons and yet when i asked again he claimed if I paid 20 dollars out of pocket he could do it which made no damn sense at all so i was forced to pay, He attached my car to the trailer but did a shitty job because the strap for my drivers side tire came loose while driving and i didnt realize that until i stopped for gas hours later. I was forced to have a truck driver help me strap that tire down so i could feel safer. Im moving a car from michigan to another state so u could understand my concerns and frustrations, once getting to my destination I tried to contact customer service and they passed me on to numerous other places and no one could help me at all. All i want is my 20 dollars back is it that hard to ask??? Im thankful Ill never have to deal with them ever again. IF ANYONE WHO WORKS FOR UHAUL READS THESE PLEASE CONTACT ME AND GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK THAT IS RIGHTFULLY MINE.... ALSO THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS TRUCK MUST HAVE BEEN GOING OUT OR SOMETHING DAMN THING SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME.
