Employee was not very nice.. person who set up reservation in antoch, il was wonderful, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs. While picking up my uhaul sept 30 at 430pm one of the sells associates was extremely rude and in a rush to leave complaining constantly that she’s been working since 7am. The other sells associates also seemed very annoyed with her as she continued to bully and everyone and wa extremely pushy. I didn’t get her name but I highly recommend someone review this station and terminate that woman.

The whole point of the online check in process on your phone is to cut wait time, and not set foot inside the store. Not at this location. I have used U-Haul for a numerous moves, and this one is by far the worst experience. To start - I pulled in, logged in to the website using my phone, followed the prompt, and since I was unable to locate my phone, I went inside. I walked in to a screaming customer arguing with Sylvia (clerk) over a screwed up reservation. This set the negative tone for my entire move. 20 minutes after standing in line, Sylvia called me over to her station, told me to sit down, and then she walked away for 10 min. Upon returning, I said I cannot find my vehicle using the online tool. She then told me "we're open, so you have to come in here to get the keys", I asked, "Isn't the idea to not walk inside and cut the wait time?" she did not respond. She then said she couldn't find my reservation in the system, that why did I do it online. She then had me complete the process on my phone. I got to the part that verifies fuel and mileage, and I said: It's asking to verify fuel and mileage, but I haven't even seen the truck yet. She yelled at me and said just press verify I checked the truck and it's fine. I countered with: I don't think this is how it's supposed to go, and she again raised her voice and said just verify it and that's what happens when you do it online. All the while, the original screaming customer is still screaming in the store. Sylvia then tells me I'm going to take care of her (screaming customer), and I said: No, you can't start taking care of me and then tell me to wait even more. Sylvia lost it. Another employee told her to finish me up, and she would take care of screaming original customer. She then printed me a contract, with a different name, address, card number and told me to sign it. I said, this isn't mine. She said, just sign it, I will fix it. I said no. She finally printed the right contract - even though it came to my email. An hour later after I arrived, I got my truck. This was the most complicated process ever. Unnecessarily so. Sylvia needs to take a step back, and breathe, when she is feeling overwhelmed and not lose her shit.

This location computer system continued to shut down in the middle of trying to pickup the truck because of it I got a late start on moving and missed my check in time to the storage place. I was advised by the staff to call U-Haul and change the drop off location when I tried calling the main number I was unable to reach anyone I waited on hold for over a hour then just hung up. The staff at this location was much more helpful then the drop off location.

I made my reservation online, and the whole process went very well. I wish the truck had places inside to attach hooks. I brought ropes and tiedown straps, and couldn't use the straps at all; no place to put the hooks. The ropes worked.

I always come to this location because the guy that normally checks me out is very knowledgeable and friendly. However the young lady that I worked with yesterday was not very pleasant. I felt like I was bothering her rather than just simply needing her assistance. I’m actually glad you now do mobile check in and out because if I had to base my experience on dealing with her yesterday I’d never come back inside the store. Other than that the truck was fine and the lady who checked me in was very nice!

The two women working behind the desk were less than helpful and it they also appeared to have some type of strife between the two of them because they were making back handed comments towards each other the entire time. For example, "Don't listen to her, she's not helping you, I am" or the other woman repeatedly telling her to "check his drivers license". Apart from that, I did mobile check-in which worked very well until I had to get the keys from the counter (step 7 of 8 i believe). Therefore, i had already gone into the back of the lot, located my truck with the equipment number above the driver side door, took pictures to report damage, uploaded a headshot, the front and back of my drivers license and was approved to pick up keys and move on. When i went to the counter, the first thing they told me was "that truck isn't here". Although she didn't say this, what she clearly meant, was the truck isn't in her computer system as an option, meaning it wasn't showing up in their lot. I told her maybe it was because i did mobile check in and it dropped out of the system (this was also a 1-way 26 foot truck rental). She said to me, "no, what I'm saying, is that truck isn't here". I tried not to give as dumbfounded a look as I was probably giving her but I told her i had already found the truck in the back and check in, it is definitely there. She didn't believe me and actually sent another employee in the back to "check for the truck". He came back with a confused look, "Yeah, the truck is back there". Then they proceeded to somehow find the keys and paperwork, noting that it has actually been there for 2 days now. Then the agent helping me proceeded to figure out where in the system the truck actually was. To her credit, at this time she apologized and said, "I was wrong, you were right". I said thank you, but all i really cared about was the fact that I actually had the truck i reserved. The woman in front of me in line had a similar issue but hadn't checked the lot for her truck and hadn't done the digital check (on the app), but had a confirmation number, reservation details, and everything you need to pick up the truck. They told her sorry, her truck wasn't there. Which at this time makes me think, it could have been in the back, they just didn't look for it. So, MY ADVICE if you can't avoid this location is to check in on the app, so you can go into the back lot and find the truck/trailer you are renting and know for a fact that it is at that location before going to the front desk. U-haul needs to evaluate how many people are having issues at this place and possibly pull their rentals from this location. They have a nice little shop with a great lot in the back and an ideal set up for renting but their customer service and the way they function is horrible.
