The owner tried charging me an additional $20 and I dropped it off a full day early. I feel I should have been given a refund for being a day early. Can you explain.why I wasn't?

Overall U Haul service was very poor. I started out with the Yreka U Haul, reserving a 10ft truck. 2 days before the pick up date, I got a call that there wasn't a 10ft truck available and I'd have to go to Montague to pick up a 15ft truck. Given the decrease in mpg, from 12-10, I asked for extra free miles. The agent promised me 60 extra miles. When I got to Montague, the agent had already rented out our 15ft and told me I had to go to Weed to pick up a 15ft truck. I said with the extra miles, I wanted more free miles. He promised me 70 free miles. So total of 130 on top of the 371 free miles. This obviously didn't cover the extra cost in gas due to the extra miles traveled to pick up the truck nor the decrease in mpg. Then when I returned the truck to Oakland they told me I had $49+ cost in extra miles. They said there was no note of the 130 extra free miles the other two agents promised me. I had to take it up with U Haul central office. Oakland also told me I qualified for the $50 refund guarantee if I didn't get the truck I reserved. NO ONE else had told me this!!! So when I called the central office, there was no documentation of the extra miles. But the agent was able to give me a $50 credit back onto my charge card. Really poor service. Extra expenditures that I should not have been financially responsible for!

personnel told me that trailer i was picking up had been stolen and brake had been tripped on trailer and i needed to release it before it would move. I tried everything in my power to release it with no luck, after hooking up trailer to u-haul I was able to sit on bumper of van and reach under for more leverage-used both feet and was able to release brake lever on 3rd try! Pulled my lower back in process so had miserable 4 hour trip. Attendant or U-haul should of had trailer ready to go!

I was very upset to not be informed that I would be charged for mileage on the day I rented the uhaul. I was very clear I was not going straight to the final destination. Not only did I explain this when I first contacted uhaul, I also mentioned it at the location. I also don’t understand why I was charged extra the day I picked up the truck. Originally I was charged for the price I was quoted on the phone, but when he charged me his computer kept saying I still owed a balance. He was confused too and eventually charged me the extra.

Truck was not at location. We where contacted by Uhaul the day prior to pick up and told both trucks would be at location. When we arrived at the correct time only one was there. We had to wait over an hour for the second truck.

Because it is a smaller location there is only one employee there at a time which also has to serve customers in the store, which takes longer. However both the employee,, and the owner are very capable and friendly and know what they are doing. Very Satisfied.

The problem at this location is not the person renting the trailer, it is the fact the picking up and returning the rental there is only one person at this location, therefore he has to work the rental plus take care of the mini-mart. To much to ask of the employee, and it causes U-Haul customers to wait, and wait, and wait to long. The equipment and the employee were fine.
