The XC has the ability to carry just about any bike style, making it Swagman’s most popular and best-selling bike rack. This rack’s adjustable ratchet arms securely hold the bike in place while the soft, frame-friendly arms protect the bike’s finish. This rack comes with a built-in anti-wobble hitch device for extra stability. The arms fold down to allow access to the vehicle without having to remove the rack.

  • Carries 1 or 2 bikes at 35 lbs. maximum per bike (70 lbs. total)
  • Fits 20” to 29” wheels

Works well except it will NOT work with certain bicycles, such as woman's bikes that lack or have a lower crossbar. In these cases, a separate accessory crossbar must be purchased. This should be noted on the product description.

Well made with durable materials, easily assembled, and light installation, easy to remove and carry to storage. Bikes didn’t wobble, low enough on RAV4 to allow for visibility. Suggest a couple of short bungee cords to secure pedals while traveling.

The XC2 bike rack had everything I was hoping it would. Stable and with a ratcheting center hook to makes the bike secure in the hooped tire wells. Light enough for my wife to handle with all features adjustable and the assembly was fairly easy.

My car does not have a hitch at the rear, do I need to install a hitch before using the bike rack. I see that u-haul does install hitch for my car, can I use that hitch to carry a bicycle using bike rack.

Hi, Claudia! Here is a quick comparison of the Swagman XC and Reese Q-Slot:

  • The Swagman XC is secured to the receiver hitch using an anti-rattle bolt vs. the traditional pin and clip on the Reese Q-Slot.
  • The Swagman XC center mast folds down to the side over the wheel cradle and the Reese Q-Slot center mast folds straight back towards the rear of the vehicle.
  • The Swagman XC wheel cradle is flat, allowing the wheel to rest fully in the cradle vs. the Reese Q-Slot's raised cradle with wheel straps.
  • The Swagman XC offers a 70 pound weight capacity and the Reese Q-Slot offers a 90 pound weight capacity

You need a hitch and you should make sure your vehicle specs allow the total weight of the rack with the bikes. Thanks.
