I purchased this starter kit and, when I rented a 6x12 trailer, I let the associate at the rental agency install it. When I removed the hitch today, I realize that he discarded the plastic cap that is used when storing the pin and clip. I guess that I should have installed it myself. Is there a way to get a replacement cap?

–John Hayes 3/18/2021 12:10:06 PM

Hello John, Yes, contact the center and they can help you. Thank you

What is the difference between the 6000# rated mount and the 7500# rated mount?

–Dan 10/24/2016 10:34:30 AM

Hi Dan. The 6,000 lb mount is rated to tow up to 6,000 lbs, while the 7,500 lb mount is rated to tow up to 7,500 lbs. That being said, you need to be sure your entire hitch system and vehicle can handle whatever weight you want to tow. For more information on what a hitch system rating is, check out this guide.

–TIMOTHY 11/11/2016 9:55:40 AM

Will this fit with a UHaul 4x8 trailor?

–Jenny McCabe 9/4/2015 8:05:11 AM

Yes, U-Haul trailers will secure to both 1-7/8" & 2" hitch balls.

–Joseph 9/10/2015 11:48:53 AM

How do you know which drop to select? 3 1/2 or 2 1/4?

–Chris 8/30/2014 7:10:40 PM

"For safe, comfortable towing, the trailer should always be set to tow on a level plane. Measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube on the hitch. - Measure from the ground to the (inside) top of the trailer coupler, when level. - Subtract the height of the hitch ball (most are 2-1/2" - 3" high) from the trailer coupler measurement. - The difference in the hitch and trailer coupler measurements minus the height of the hitch ball, is the amount of ball mount "rise" or "drop" required."

–Ronald 9/5/2014 8:44:54 AM

How long does it take to install?

–LaDetra Bailey 5/7/2014 1:59:22 PM

You should be able to slide this ballmount into the hitch receiver and secure it with pin and clip in less than a minute.

–Ronald 5/7/2014 2:08:38 PM

What is the towing capacity

–Jerome 1/13/2014 10:28:08 AM
