My 2004 Honda CRV doesn't have raised side rails. The side rails lie nearly flush with the roof. If staps are tied tight will the 4 straps attached to the crossbars suffice?

I would like to know how many average size suit cases this would hold
After researching suitcases using Google, I concluded and estimated, an "average" size suitcase would hold approximately 4 cubic feet of clothes. U-Hauls #161040 Waterproof Rooftop Cargo Carrier holds 15 cubic feet. That means our carrier should hold 3.75 times as much as an average size suitcase.
About how many suitcases fit in it
That's hard to say because suitcases come in so many different sizes. However, this carrier will expand to a usable storage volume of 15 cubic feet.
What if I don't fill it up? Does the cargo just slide around
If you tighten the straps tight enough, you may be able to reduce how much the cargo slides around if the carrier is not full. However, just like any type of carrier, box, or container ..... if they are not full the cargo within will have a tendency to move around.
As noted in the instructions provided above ... "For best results, fill spaces with soft items (e.g. pillows, jackets, blankets).

Can I use this product if I only have 2 racks? (Vertical)
The RAINX Roof Top Cargo Bag has a total of eight tie-down points, two per side. The straps are secured to roof racks equipped with raised side rails and two crossbars. If this is not the best solution for you, please consider using the Rola Pursuit; Part number 59150, or using a hitch mounted cargo carrier.
Can you simply use the cargo bag and straps to keep it on the car or do you have to have the bars or rails?

I would like to know how many average size suit cases this would hold
After researching suitcases using Google, I concluded and estimated, an "average" size suitcase would hold approximately 4 cubic feet of clothes. U-Hauls #161040 Waterproof Rooftop Cargo Carrier holds 15 cubic feet. That means our carrier should hold 3.75 times as much as an average size suitcase.
About how many suitcases fit in it
That's hard to say because suitcases come in so many different sizes. However, this carrier will expand to a usable storage volume of 15 cubic feet.
What if I don't fill it up? Does the cargo just slide around
If you tighten the straps tight enough, you may be able to reduce how much the cargo slides around if the carrier is not full. However, just like any type of carrier, box, or container ..... if they are not full the cargo within will have a tendency to move around.
As noted in the instructions provided above ... "For best results, fill spaces with soft items (e.g. pillows, jackets, blankets).
