Yes! U-Haul policy is to clean each box between rentals.

I'm moving to another state. Can I rent plastic moving boxes for my move?

Not at this time. Currently, your Ready-To-Go boxes must be returned to the same location they were rented from.

I'm moving in the same state, but a few towns over. Can I rent plastic moving boxes and return them to a different U-Haul location?

You'll have no problem renting boxes, just be sure to return them to the location you picked them up from. You won't be able to return your boxes to a different location than the one you rented them from.

Do boxes work on U-Haul dollies?

Yes! Depending on how you like to move, both the U-Haul Furniture Dolly and U-Haul Utility Dolly work well with boxes and help reduce loading and unloading time.

Can I pay for Ready-To-Go Box at the store?

Absolutely! Customers pay for their Ready-To-Go Boxes in the store regardless of whether they reserved online or went directly to the store.

Can I pay for my plastic moving totes with a credit card?

Yes, you can! U-Haul accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.

If I can't unpack my boxes on time, can I keep the moving crates longer?

Yes! The boxes are yours to use until you bring them back. Just give us a call, and we will extend your rental period.

I really like these boxes. How can I buy a Ready-To-Go Box?

Unfortunately, we do not sell our plastic bins, but for good reason! When a Ready-To-Go Box has passed it's lifecycle, it's ground down and made into other items.

Do your boxes fit through doorways?

Each Ready-To-Go Box is designed to fit through most standard doorways. Our plastic boxes are approximately 20\"W x 24\"L x 12\"H.

Are plastic moving boxes friendly to the environment?

Definitely! Each Ready-To-Go Box can be re-used many times over and won't end up in a landfill. When they finally reach the end of their lifecycle, they are ground down and made into other items.

How strong are U-Haul plastic moving boxes?

Our boxes are made of high-density polyethylene, making them one of the most durable boxes in the industry.

Can I rent more plastic moving boxes from U-Haul if I run out?

Yes, you can reserve them online or call the store where you rented your boxes.

What if I only need one box? Can I rent just one plastic moving crate?

Of course! While most of our competitors have minimum rental requirements, we allow you to pick up as many or as few as you need. Ready-To-Go Box is the most economical choice for our customers.

I accidentally damaged my rental box. What happens if I damage a box?

We realize that accidents happen. We will make every effort to ensure our plastic boxes can be rented again. If the box is damaged to the point that it cannot be rented again, there is a $25.00 replacement fee per box.

How easy are Ready-To-Go Box plastic moving boxes to carry?

Every Ready-To-Go Box is designed with your comfort in mind. Boxes are built with a sturdy, single mold base with built-in handles which make them easy to carry. The two lid flaps lock in seamlessly and do not require any tape to hold shut. These boxes can be stacked safely on top of each other without having to worry about crushing the contents underneath.

Using plastic moving boxes instead of cardboard is an excellent way to embrace sustainable moving, but why stop there? There are plenty of other things you can do for an eco-friendlier move.

If you are using cardboard moving boxes, try to reuse existing boxes instead of buying new ones. Ask friends or family, or better yet, check your local U-Haul center's Take a Box, Leave a Box station for FREE boxes.
Have clutter you don't want to take with you? Don't just throw it away! Host a yard sale or make a trip to your local donation center to find a new home for your items. This keeps things out of landfills and helps those in need in the process.
Be sure to use eco-friendly packing supplies whenever possible. That includes biodegradable packing peanuts, packing paper, Enviro-Bubbler^®, and other "green" packing supplies. U-Haul is a great resource for environmentally friendly packing supplies.

Repurpose things you already have as packaging materials. Towels, t-shirts, and even socks can be used in place of bubble packaging. Use these repurposed materials to protect fragile items, like glassware, decorative items, and electronics.
