Pat Goodwin Named ADVP of District 10

MOUNT AIRY, Md. (March 30, 2016) — Dating to his early U-Haul days as a customer service representative at Moving & Storage of Rockville, Pat Goodwin knew the skills and experience he was gaining would come to benefit the Company in a bigger role.

Goodwin is now poised to step into his newly appointed position of area district vice president (ADVP), eager to lead District 10 to bigger and better things.

AMERCO Chairman and President Edward J. “Joe” Shoen and Executive Vice President Chuck Hertzler made the announcement. Goodwin began in his new role on March 24.

“I am excited to lead District 10 – I have the highest respect for this team,” Goodwin said. “I am looking forward to many more great things to come. Exceptional customer service has always been first and foremost in District 10. We will continue with that same focus. It has always been a great recipe for our success.”

Goodwin most recently served as president of 819, U-Haul Company of Maryland. He has been a field relief manager for U-Haul Company of Baltimore as well as 818, U-Haul Company of Metro DC; a shop manager for Hyattsville RERS; an executive assistant, traffic control manager, senior manager and area field manager for 818; a CSR and general manager for U-Haul Moving & Storage of Rockville; and a manager for U-Haul Moving & Storage of Landover.

“I have worked with Pat since 1998,” Hertzler said. “He has proven to be a leader that always puts the customers and his team first. The DC/Maryland market has grown tremendously over the past decade and Pat has been right in the middle of the action. I am looking forward to seeing Pat put his leadership to work and continue the growth in District 10.”

Goodwin added: “I have a great base to work from. It’s all about our personnel. Without such a great staff, we wouldn’t exist. I have met a lot of the team over the years, and I know the type of character District 10 has. We can only grow stronger!”
