How to Use the Payment Code

A couple shares their Payment Code with their Moving Help Service Provider.

When you spend money, you want to have confidence that your money is well spent. That’s especially true when you’re planning a move, where costs can add up quickly.

When you book moving labor on the Moving Help® Marketplace, the Payment Code helps ensure your hard-earned dollars are spent on quality moving services.

Here’s how the Payment Code works and how to use it the right way.

What Is the Payment Code?

The Payment Code is a unique 6-digit code that’s used to pay your Service Provider.

How Does It Work?

After you book your Moving Helper, your payment is securely held in an escrow account. Once the job is completed, you share the Payment Code with your Service Provider. This releases the payment to the Service Provider and finalizes the job.

When Should I Give My Helper the Payment Code?

Only share the Payment Code with your Service Provider after the job is finished, and you are 100 percent satisfied. If you’re not satisfied with the service, you can hold onto the Payment Code while you work toward a resolution. You’re in complete control.

After the Payment Code is released and the Service Provider has been paid, you’ll get the opportunity to leave a review and tell others about your experience.

If your scheduled hours run out and you’d like to add more time or services, you can add hours on the U-Haul App or your Customer Account. Any added hours are paid using the same Payment Code.

Where Can I Find My Payment Code?

You can find your Payment Code in a few different places:

  • In the confirmation email after booking
  • Via text message (if you opted into SMS alerts)
  • In your Customer Account on MovingHelp.com
  • In your profile on the U-Haul App

My Helper Asked for My Payment Code Before the Job Was Done: What Should I Do?

Remember: Don’t share your Payment Code until the job is finished.

If your Service Provider asks for the Payment Code before the job is completed, let them know you’ll only share it once the move is done. This helps protect you and ensures the job is completed as agreed.

Your Service Provider might ask if you have your Payment Code ready or if you know where to find it. This way, they’re not left waiting on you. Feel free to let them know you’ve got it covered and you’re ready.

I Already Shared My Payment Code, Can I Still Get a Refund?

Once the Payment Code is shared, the payment is released to the Service Provider. At that point, the funds are no longer held by Moving Help, and we can’t issue a refund. Any refund will have to come from your Service Provider directly and be worked out by both parties.

That’s why it’s important to wait until the job is done, and you’re fully satisfied before giving out your Payment Code.
