Moving to Music City: U-Haul Opens Full-Service Store by Downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE (Oct. 9, 2018) — U-Haul® is now meeting the needs of moving and self-storage customers near downtown Nashville at the former Citadel Self Storage facility at 506 Fesslers Lane.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Nashville opens today and is offering truck and trailer sharing and moving supplies. There are also 1,065 indoor climate-controlled self-storage units with high-tech security features, along with 88 customizable wine lockers in the three-story building.

“This location will benefit our downtown clientele and save our customers time and money,” U-Haul Company of Nashville president Jeff Porter said. “Providing a clean, secure environment for their possessions is our top priority. Minor renovations to the retail showroom will incorporate a U-Haul Re-Use center for gently used household goods and materials to be shared amongst the community and the Take A Box, Leave A Box program.

The 154,275-square-foot building is directly off Interstate 24/40 at exit 212 with easy access to Elm Hill Pike and Lafayette Street. It is minutes from Trevecca, Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities and offers high visibility for motorists traveling between Music City and the Nashville International Airport.

This will be the sixth U-Haul-owned and -operated store in the Nashville city limits to serve DIY moving and self-storage customers.

Porter expects to maintain a staff of five or more Team Members when the facility is fully operational. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth in Nashville.
