Joey Cleaver Named MCP for U-Haul Company of Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 8, 2016) — Seven years of U-Haul experience and dedication to customer service has prepared Joey Cleaver for his new role as marketing company president of 824, U-Haul Company of Richmond.

Area district vice president Ray Smith and executive vice president Chuck Hertzler made the announcement. Cleaver moved into his new position on Feb. 5.

Cleaver started as an area field manager with U-Haul Company of Tidewater in 2009. In 2012, he transferred to U-Haul Company of Northern Virginia and, in 2014, became general manager of U-Haul Moving & Storage of Fredericksburg. Now he’s back in District 8 as an MCP.

“I’m excited about taking on this new role,” Cleaver said. “I will be working in the district where my career began and I will be able to work with many of the Team Members who helped me from the beginning. I’m also excited to meet a lot of new Team Members. I plan to work hard and nurture the growth to help make even more opportunities become available to our U-Haul family.”

Cleaver plans to lead and grow 824 by taking care of existing customers and adding more dealers to the U-Haul network – as well as more storage location. Cleaver fills the role formerly held by Amy Cox.

“I believe Joey will take the hard work and results of Amy Cox and her team to the next level, Hertzler said. “The formation of the new Virginia U-Haul Company is the result of the hard work of many Team Members. I believe Joey is a person that can realize the hard work of others while providing leadership that will take the marketing company to the next level.
