LAKE TAPPS, Wash. (Feb. 3, 2016) — Twenty-two years of service at U-Haul has prepared Kim Merow for her new position as area district vice president (ADVP) for District 1.

Merow begin her U-Haul career in 1994 as a part-time hot line operator and customer service representative at the corporate towers in Phoenix. A few years later, she moved to Oregon to continue her work with U-Haul. She worked for UHC of Oregon at shop 180 and then moved to Company 704 as a reservations manager. Shortly after that, MCO 700 was created and she went to work there as a reservations manager and later a traffic control manager. In 2004, she was selected as the marketing company president (MCP) of Southern Washington (702).

Kim Merow promoted to ADVP for District 1.

As District 1 ADVP, Merow will oversee U-Haul operations in a growing area of western Washington and parts of Oregon. Geared with experience in various fields, knowledge, determination and a proven track record of leadership, Merow is ready to take on this new role.

“I am excited to see the growth of District 1, and getting to work with more of the Team Members that work so hard to serve customers every day,” Merow said. “The strengths of this district are hands-down the people. We have a strong team of managers and Team Members and, because of that, we have had some great growth.”

Merow’s goals include continuing this growth trend and creating more opportunities for U-Haul in the area. She wants to preserve and enhance the positive attitudes already in place with her team. She foresees more expansion coming in the U-Haul neighborhood dealer network as well as increasing the number of U-Haul storage facilities available in the region.

“Kim has demonstrated her ability in leadership and management over the years,” U-Haul Executive Vice President (EVP) Ron Frank said. “She has been successful in a number of different assignments that give her a very nice broad view of what’s going on.

“There’s a learning curve for all of us and she’s demonstrated her ability to adapt and problem-solve. She’s in a highly energized area from the Team Members to the business potential, and it’s exciting for me to see her grow and build on the successes of previous Team Members. I anticipate her leadership will enhance the entire U-Haul team and I wish her the very best.”

Congratulations, Kim!
