Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Moving Insider! I know that everyone is busy feasting on turkey and other tasty things, but it is important to remember that there are always things to be thankful for. Everyone at Moving Insider has contributed a little bit that we’re thankful for when we move.
Toni: When I’m moving I’m thankful for the furniture dolly and my strong friends.
Scott S: I’m thankful when I can park the U-Haul truck in a good spot, so the ramp pulls right out onto the pathway heading to my apartment, instead of having to walk around a few corners with a couch or other heavy items. Also, I’m thankful for leases that are up in February or March, so I don’t have to move in June or July.
Moving David: When I move I am thankful for first floor apartments and single story homes. I am also thankful for all of the things that don’t break during my move, and sometimes for the ugly things that do.
Jennifer W: When planning my move, I was thankful I could order my packing supplies online and have them shipped to my home for free. It was one less errand I had to run. I was also thankful for my GPS. During a long, cross-country move the last thing you need to worry about is getting lost and losing time.
Ryan: When I moved 2 months ago, I was absolutely thankful for the utility dolly that helped me move all my boxes full of books in 1/3 the time it would have taken to do it by hand. Also for having friends and relatives who could be hired for the low, low price of all the beverages that were left in my fridge.
I’ll tell you what I’m not thankful for: long couches and narrow stairways. Horrible combination created to inspire frustration and fire safety problems.
What were you thankful for the last time you moved?
