5 Must Have iPhone Apps for Moving

Aug 7, 2012

Your phone is probably the last thing you’re worried about when you’re moving. It’s not needed to help psychically move your items, but there are some key apps to help make the process easier. Here are the five iPhone apps for moving we would recommend to help make your life easier.

U-Haul App

Moving is made easier with the U-Haul Moving & Storage app. Here you can rent and return a truck or trailer right from your phone! Manage every aspect of your move from the reservation to the return. You can also track ass your orders, manage your account, rent self-storage and move right in. Find a location near you, hire Moving Helpers, order boxes and packing supplies for delivery or pickup in-store, and so much more!

Apple Maps

With its clean design, Apple Maps is designed to be easy to navigate. Some features include Satellite, detailed city experience, directions, turn-by-turn, navigation, traffic, incident reporting, lane guidance, and more. If you have an iPhone the app is already installed on your phone. If you don’t, head to the app store, search “Apple Maps,” and hit download!

GasBuddy

If you don’t have this app already, get ready to have your mind blown! Whether you’re moving or not, GasBuddy finds you fuel prices at more than 140,000 gas stations in real-time (U.S. and Canada only). It is GPS-based and works to help provide you with the best-priced stations near you. Some of its features include: filtering for fuel you need, amenities tracking, a price spread of gas prices, a gas back option if you shop through their app, and a “drives” feature that can help you monitor your driving to create better fuel efficiency.

Camera App

This option might seem a little confusing, but let me explain. When moving, we tend to throw things into a box, tape them up, and move on to the next. This process can lead us to forget what we put in what box. This is where your camera app comes in handy! Number your box inside and out, that way when you take a photo of what’s inside it’s easy to find what you are looking for!

Notes App

Another app you might never consider for help with moving but let me show you the way. Over the last couple of years, the notes app has added some useful features. A notable one would be you can scan any documents you want to keep safe. This can be moving files, receipts, IDs, or anything you feel is important. You can also use it as a writing tool to make notes or bullet points of information you need to remember. There is also a drawing option which you can use to make time go a little faster on the road.

Get these five apps for moving to avoid getting flustered with your iPhone while driving! And make sure you download and play with them ahead of time, for a fun and safe move!
