In order for moving day to go smoothly it is essential to wear the safe and comfortable attire, but who says moving can’t be fashionable? Here are some tips on what to wear for spring moving day:
Keep it Light
Don’t let your fashion on moving day drag you down, literally. Wear light and porous clothing while moving so that way your body can breathe if it works up a sweat. You can wear workout clothes or the classic jeans and t-shirt. Either way, make sure you don’t wear anything expensive. Where you live and how long you will be moving will determine how many layers you need to wear on moving day. For example, if you are moving early in the morning in California you will most likely need a light sweater for the breezy morning, but if you live on the East Coast you might want to add a long sleeve shirt and jacket.
It’s All About the Shoes
After moving all day, you will probably be a little sore. Prevent any toe stubs, back or foot aches by wearing the appropriate footwear. You don’t have to splurge on the latest and greatest gym shoes; any athletic shoes with arch support will do the trick. Wearing closed-toe shoes is one of many safety precautions you must take during moving day.
Long Hair, Don’t Care
The last thing you want to happen during moving day is to have your hair get caught on a drawer or sliding door. Do yourself a favor and put those luscious locks in a top knot or sleek ponytail. You don’t need to go to your hair stylist for this; you just need a few ponytail bands, bobby pins, and a little hairspray.
Accessorize
Moving day fashion is not about how many chunky pieces of jewelry you can wear but it doesn’t mean you can’t add a little something. If it’s hot out (or if you just didn’t do your hair) you can accessorize with a hat or cute headband. Skip out on the chandelier earrings and go for little studs.
The Essentials
Last but definitely not least, if you don’t want to look and smell like an onion by the end of the day, sunscreen and deodorant is highly recommended. Now, you will look like a superstar while you load up the moving truck!
