Moving To San Diego

San Diego: There are few places with better  weather and friendlier people, so it’s no surprise why anyone would want to live there. It is unique in the best of ways, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some tips and tricks unique to San Diego that could make your move easier. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Cost of Living

Yes, the beautiful weather comes at a high cost. The housing market in San Diego can feel like its through the roof in comparison to other cities, but that’s the cost of living in paradise. Be sure to research what it will realistically cost you to move and live there. Be prepared. You don’t want any surprises once it’s too late! Just remember: You will realize why its so expensive once you experience it.

Any Time is a Good Time

Almost every city has a time of year that you should avoid for a move and a time of year that is prime. But because San Diego’s weather only fluctuates about 10 degrees throughout the year, it’s always a good time to move! The only thing to consider is school schedules. There are multiple universities in the city so avoid the move-in and move-out times (May and August). That is when equipment is less likely to be available.

Storage is Your Friend

Finding storage won’t be a problem so take advantage! There is drive-up storage by the beach so if you’d like to keep your beach essentials nearby, it is easy to do so. There is even surf board storage so no need to get the bungee cords out.

Explore!

San Diego has something for everyone so don’t stay cooped up in your new home. Head to SeaWorld or take a bike ride down Mission Beach. Don’t feel like being outdoors? Head to to Gaslamp District for some locally caught seafood.
