Grilled pineapples

While most people associate their propane grills with steaks, burgers and hot dogs, I say, don’t limit yourself! Put a spin on your favorite desserts and cook them on the grill. I promise you it will change your life! Well, maybe it won’t change your life but it will definitely please your taste buds. So, the next time you’re grilling don’t power down until after you’ve cooked one of these desserts.

Grilled Pineapple

If you’re looking for a great blend of flavors, this grilled pineapple recipe is for you. As you’re making this dessert remember to have fun and experiment with the recipe. There are endless amounts of toppings you can serve with your pineapples.

Ingredients:grilled pineapple

  • 1 pineapple cut into rounds
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Mix your honey, olive oil, lime juice, and cinnamon in a bowl. Then using a brush, sweep the marinade on both sides of the pineapple. Before setting your pineapple rounds on the grill, coat the grill rack with cooking spray. You’ll then set your pineapples on your grill to cook on medium-high for 2 minutes on each side. Once they’re done they’re yours to enjoy!

This grilled dessert is super simple. You’ll want to grab the classics: shortcake and strawberries. Cut these into smaller portions that fit on a skewer. Once you have your kabob ready, slip it into a non-stick kabob basket to prevent them from sticking to the grill. Cook them for about four minutes on medium heat and be sure to turn the basket after two minutes. Let them cool for a second then enjoy with some whip cream.

 Grilled banana s'moreGrilled Banana Boat

As someone who loves bananas and chocolate, this recipe is a dream come true! It’s essentially a giant s’more inside of a banana grilled to perfection. I’m not going to tell you what to put into this bad-boy, because that would ruin the fun. So gather the toppings your heart most desires to put inside the banana. In my case those are: chocolate chips, peanut butter and marshmallows. Once you decide on your toppings, you’ll make a cut into your banana (don’t peel it) lengthwise. Be sure not to cut all the way through. Now you can put your toppings into the banana and wrap it with foil. The foil shouldn’t hug the banana tightly.  Set your banana on the grill to cook on medium heat for 8 -10 minutes. When it’s done, you’ll want to let it cool before you dig in.
