Movies to Watch After Your Move

Jan 28, 2015

Now that your move is over, it’s time to relax with a good movie. If you’re as indecisive as I am, deciding exactly which of these films would take a lifetime so we decided to help you out by providing some options with these movies about moving on.

Sliding Doors

Helen learns that everything happens for a reason as  her life suddenly opens two very different doors for her– Maybe you aren’t so thrilled about having to move just yet, but now that it’s happened, your life is going to change completely and you have the opportunity to re-create yourself! On another note, maybe you can just laugh at the title based irony since that cargo van you used for your move had sliding doors for curbside access. Either way, I’d say it’s a pretty relevant moving related movie.

(500) Days of Summer

Like Tom and Summer, a part of you has known for awhile that this change in your life was necessary. Still, you held onto that old home of yours for so long hoping it was “the one”. Now that you’ve decided to take the plunge, you have the opportunity to fall in love all over again — with your new home!

Legally Blonde

Elle moves from UCLA movies to watch after your moveto Harvard and completely changes her life. She may have initially moved for the wrong reasons, she made came into her own in the process. Besides, we have to give Elle some props for hiring professionals to help her move her entire life with her to Harvard. After all, she couldn’t carry both Bruiser and her boxes.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone

Even if we love our families, they can be a little much sometimes and moving out for the first time is so exciting. Harry was definitely ready to move out of his Aunt and Uncle’s house and create a new life for himself. Who can blame him? You’d want to run off for a competely fresh start too if you were him! If you’re moving out and getting ready for college, you might be able to relate to him more than you’d think.

Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants

I’ll be the first to admit this movie is a tad cheesy, but you can’t deny its moving-related perfection. Maybe moving is going to be tough because you don’t want to leave your friends behind —  Take a lesson from this film and decide to stay in touch! Go on separate adventures and just know that if you are true friends, it will stay that way regardless of any physical space between you.
