Grilled Okra

Jul 31, 2015

Grilling season is upon us so fill up that propane tank , wipe the dust off your grill and get cooking! We asked U-Haul team members to submit their favorite grilling recipes and we picked some of our favorites. This family recipe puts a tasty spin on okra and was submitted by team member Naldemus who was born and raised in Florida!  Naldemus mentions that they grow okra and other vegetables as well. Here’s the recipe for grilled okra:

grilled okraIngredients Needed:

  • 2 dozen fresh okra
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Skewers

How to Make:

Step 1: Rinse okra and pat dry

Step 2: Place okra on 2 skew
ers, as shown in photo. This keeps the okra from spinning when you turn it over on the grill.

Step 3: Brush each side with butter and lightly salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Place on grill 3 minutes on each side until slightly brown.

Step 5: Eat and enjoy! This recipe serves 4.
