Sometimes things don’t go as planned during a move and it’s not unlikely that somewhere between loading and unloading the moving truck someone will spill their drink on your mattress or drag your couch through the pavement. While you can’t control everything, you can control how you protect your furniture.
Before you even begin loading your truck or cargo van, you should make a list of the upholstered furniture in your home. These are the items that are most prone to stains. Some items to include: couches, mattress, love seats and chairs. Now that you have a list, you can make it a priority to find the best way to protect them.
Mattress
We all know moving the mattress can prove tricky. Its large size and weight make it difficult to maneuver and it’s possible that you might drop or drag it at some point. However, you can protect it by using a mattress bag. These bags are great because they seal for maximum protection and have handles to facilitate carrying the mattress. They also come in different sizes to fit all mattresses. If you plan on storing the mattress for a long period of time I recommend you use a pro mattress bag.
Love Seat and Chair
Don’t take any chances when moving smaller pieces of furniture. You might think they are less likely to ruin because you will swiftly move them in and out of your home, but that isn’t always the case. Use the love seat cover and chair cover to keep your mind at ease. These will protect your upholstered items from moisture and dust.
Couch
A simple way to prevent stains on your couch is by using this sofa cover. It’s large enough to fit a regular size couch (8 feet) and will protect your couch from any potential accidents. If the cover doesn’t fit your couch, you can opt instead for a dust cover. While these are larger, they aren’t sealable bags. You can use them to wrap your couch and secure with tape.
