One of the workers told me after looking at mileage and gas, I forgot to fill tank and asked for price for not putting gas in, he gave price under $76 but I was charged over one hundred. Had me select a pickup location and a different drop off location but once I confirmed reviewing it and then added the reservation it automatically changed it to where I had to drop it off at the same location that I picked it up. So I ended up spending more money to put gas in it plus more money for the miles. I am extremely unhappy. What was supposed to be only about $35 to use ended up being $65 and the customer service rep basically told me there is nothing nobody can do even though well aware of the tech errorDorothy N.

When someone has a reservation for a piece of equipment, and there are three similar pieces of equipment sitting there in the lot, don't tell them that what they have reserved is not available because it has not been returned. I was told that they couldn't substitute on of the others because they were reserved. Yeah, so was mine, and I'm standing here. I did eventually convince them that they should rent me something that was available AT THE SAME PRICE as my reservation, but it should not have taken so long (30-45 minutes in the store!) The people working there were great, but they need to be allowed more authority to address customer needs, especially on weekends when management is not present.Kimberly D.

This trailer was the dirtiest trailer we've ever rented. It looked like livestock had been moved in it. When I arrived at U-Haul the trailer had not been checked in yet for me to rent so I know it was never checked for cleanliness. If I had just turned it in, I would have been charged the cleaning fee. Equipment was not inspected before I took it. Left out the dollies that were ordered. The fuel was lower than the contract stated. Less than a mile away the oil light came on. I had to put two and a half quarts of oil in it. I have rented a few trucks from you guys and this was by far the worst time. The pick up process was absolutely terrible. To begin the photos shown for the vehicle seemed to be taken from months back showing no signs of the vast amount of damage already on the truck. I ran out of pictures on one of the sides trying to document all of it to make sure I wasn't charged for it. Then I find out the vehicle is on empty. I have never once rented a truck that wasn't topped off before. When I came in to talk with the person at the desk they showed little signs of caring and just told me to fill it to a quarter tank for a little refund.Christopher S.

First off the moving company I booked through U-Haul ruined my $2000 mattress and would not take responsibility for it. Forcing me to buy a new one. Pickup: nobody seemed to know what was going on or what my reservation was. I was there well over an hour trying to get things figured out. Nothing was explained to me and I even had to show the gentleman hooking up the car hauler how to use a car a ratchet strap and where to actually secure the chains to the frame of the truck. The trailer lights stopped working mid trip and we had to stop at another U-Haul dealer which set us back another 2 hours on our trip. They had to replace a relay and trailer light connector. The overall condition of the truck was fine except there was no air conditioning blowing out of the vents, and this was the hottest week of the yearStephen B.
I went to empty out a storage unit that I had had for several years and when I went to empty out the unit there was a hole in the unit because the unit was outdoors was outdoor storage unit and several of my things had become molded and eaten up by the rats I lost quite a bit of merchandise I think their trucks need to be better maintained the ones that are outdoors.Pamala K.

I was sent on a wild goose chase to a bad part of Kansas City. there was no one managing the site, I had to call UHaul corporate twice finally got a trailer at State Street where i started an hour earlier. Assistant manager was rude to me. I almost missed my deadline to pick up my vehicle after driving there from Little Rock. I was dissapointed.Robert K.

After calling and finding out they would be open when I dropped the truck of at 2 pm no one was available to give me a receipt and it has taken several days and I still do not have confirmation the truck has been received. I call to see if it has beef received and the answer I keep getting is not yet. I am now getting random $970.74 daily charges from uhaul. I am not able to get ahold of costumer service to get the issue resolved. I also did uhaul a favor by taking an empty trailer to Florida and they offer me $147 to tow it down and drop it. I have never received the money. They keep telling me they need a manager to talk to me but not manager is ever on the job when I call between the hours of 8am-6pm eastern time. I think we messed up the convenience of the online check-in process by seeking guidance from the staff instead of attempting to just access the facility on our own. Rather than just walking us through the info we received online, it was as if they started the check-in process all over but did not tell us they changed our access info, etc and they charged us for another lock but we found one in the unit when we got to the unit. Small inconveniences of having to make multiple trips back to the office to figure out why we couldn't get in. In the end it all worked out fine, just not the most helpful (knowledgeable??) staff. Nice facility, less impressed with the staff. Just seemed to go through the motions rather than really listen to customer and assist appropriately. Even inquired about dropping our rental truck there instead of returning to STL area but was basically discouraged from doing so for reasons that felt more like because the staff didn't want to deal with it, than for legitimate reasons. Uhaul was willing to work with us and allowed us to use an old office that had been converted into a storage unit. The draw back was that our unit was located inside the store area and we could not access it after 7. When we moved out of unit it became very apparent that no big extermination had been done. We paid for a climate control area which I assumed would mean minimal bug inhabitation but I was wrong! Ants and beetles covered the floor under our things.
