Used to go to the U-Haul outlet across from Walmart in Durango. After multiple bad experiences there, I switched to the U-Haul rental at 4 Corners Riversports. This facility is much better, the people are nicer and much more competent, and they are honest.

Keep blankets dry! The blankets were soaked on one side, so each in several places. Not happy paying $20 extra for wet blankets, had to wait for them to dry before using on our better furniture. Rest of our U-Haul experience was great!

BUT... This particular trailer had a waaay oversized hitch/ tongue on it that was quite heavy and there was no jack. I'm pretty strong and have never had an issue in the past removing hitch from ball, but I had to ask for help and us 2 strong gals had a challenge lifting it up and gently lowering it to the ground. I was there for 45 minutes trying to work with this problem, waiting for ship to open, and finally backed up about a quarter of an inch to free the hitch. I gave my wrist a pretty good bruise, trying to lift the darn thing. I did let the Durango folk know, and suggested uhaul perhaps put a jack on this oddly oversized hitch.

I rented a van with a half tank of gas, so I brought it back with a half tank. They still charged me over $60 in gas to fill it up with 11 gallons. I've left voicemails and emails with no response. Maybe go to one of the other uHauls in town.

I waited 40 minutes to pick up a pickup truck and car hauler - seems excessive considering I was the 1st customer in line when they opened.

Dealing with George was the worst experience I have ever had. I was recently evacuated from the Calf Canyon Fire in New Mexico. I had very little time to get out my belongings after being evacuated. It took me a day or two to find someone to take my things for me. When I called George he said no problem. I had no idea whether my home had burnt down at the time. After telling me that if I needed to use the trailer later it was no problem. I didn't expect anything for free, but I did not expect to be charged $108 extra. I had spoke to George that morning and he said nothing about such a large charge being taken automatically out of my account. This left me with no funds to find somewhere to stay. When I called George to ask about these charges, and explained once again that I had been so displaced because of the fires, he said, “so you have a sob story”. He would not let me talk, talking on top of me, like I'm a stupid child instead of treating me with any respect as a customer. Being displaced out of ones home do to being evacuated, loosing ones home creates such stress and being treated as if you are less than and being treated with utter rudeness, disrespectful, and anything but compassion was is offensive. George went as far as to cruelly state “ I was going to give you a free day but now I'm not going to” . I never expected anything free, but for him to pretend to be understanding and kind, as well as misleading and not communicating any extra charges was unprofessional. Especially knowing the situation I was in, as well as the situation it put me in. Then to be as cruel as to say that he can give me a free day but now he's not as if to say… see I have the power to help, but now I'm not… like he is a school yard bully. If this is an approved way a representative of U Haul treats their customers, bullying , misleading, and incredibly rude, then I will not have a problem telling my clients not to utilize U Haul out of Durango Colorado. There are too many other choices where a customer is treated right. Thank you for your time in this manner

He wasn't that friendly and we had a lot of issues with the technology upon pickup. They were hard to get a hold of. We had a flat tire and no one from uhaul or this facility called me back. I spent $36 of my own money to fix a nail in the tire in Sturgis.

Messed up on the day of return and had a LOT more moving to do. Called and extended the return date, no problem. The guys were chill and understanding. Definitely recommend.

First of akk, the equipment that you adcertise includes a pick up truck. Out if about 5 uhaul locatiobs in my small town, not one had a puck up truck to rent. That was the vehicle I needed. The only place I could pick one up was in a different tiwn 56 mikes away and had to return it there too. So right iff the bat, my milage charge was $66.08 for pick up and to bring back, besides 6 hours there and back twice of non use other then collecting the truck. The worst part of the experience was returning it. Its mud season in my town so i took it to the car wash and cleaned the truck. My shoes were muddy, unavoidable considering the season. So when i got there, the floor had mud on it. I told them id gladly pay the cleaning charge. Then the man said he smelled cigarette smoke in the truck and had called over two more employees to verify. They all agreed. I said that was very strange considering that I do not smoke. Well he told me my cleaning charge was to be $150.00.Outrageously high for cleaning 2 floor mats, and for imaginary cigarette smoke smell. Again i told him i do not smoke. So he dropped $50.00 off the charge. He offered me the opportunity to take thebtruck at no additional charge to go clean the floor mats. Im 73 years old. I spent 4 days moving stuff from my storage, cleaned the truck before driving 56 miles to return truck, i was exhausted. I told him i was done, ill just pay the cleaning fee. I filled the truck with gas a coupke miles before i got to the uhaul place. He never mebtioned the gas but when i got home and loojed at my email receipt, i found i was charged also for 2 gallons if gas. When i picked truck up it was slightly below the full mark as it was when i returned it. I would have pointed it out if he said something about it but he didnt. How petty. I just paid $417.00 which included a $100 for cleaning two floor mats. I will never rent another UHaul ever again. If this is how all UHauls operate, ill take my business elsewhere. I bet you wont post this for public viewing.

I felt immediately that all of the employees felt bothered to have to interact or help with me as a U haul customer , they were busy with the main business, unfriendly staff and I am a local since 1980, Durango has changed and not for the better.

have moving supplies available there were only blankets and a dolly to rent, no packing materials were on hand It seems like they don't care in Durango if you have anythnig you need to move, its all about renting a truck and taking your money

There needs to be a non-binary choice like "maybe". The location was not bad, but I. would not call it inviting. I believe the personnel could have been more helpful. Not my best U-haul experience. what has changed in two years? Seemed to be a tendancy to milk for this fee and that fee until I questioned it.

I was switched around 3 times to different Uhaul locations and no one told me. It was frustrating. I liked the 4 core sis riversports once I got there. The gentleman who assisted us was very thorough and friendly.

The outside of our truck was filthy. We got pulled over because you couldn't read the plates. And the inside smelt like cigarettes. We were hoping to get some kind of discount or refund since we didn't have a great experience.

I received adequate attention when I was at this U-haul office but when leaving a message with one of their employees, I was less than satisfied since I had to physically go to the office to make sure that my reservation was in place. The person (woman that I didn't get the name of) never relayed my message to the person I asked her to give my message to. Communication is key and I didn't find that this location gives much value in phone communication so I always made sure to show up physically to get any questions answered.

The young man who helped us when we returned the trailer is to be commended. He was very helpful and seemed concerned that we had problems with the tire. We had no problems with being reimbursed for the tire. He was very pleasant and a credit to your company!
