This is not a review of my pick-up or drop-off locations, or the attendants working these locations. This is a comment for the company. The price for one way trailers are insane. Even the uhaul attendant had to double check the price when they were receiving the dropoff because they were shocked. Your locations and attendants are great, and I understand the logistics in prices but they're beyond reason. Honestly, unless this wasn't a last resort, mandatory need, I would never use the company as a whole. Price gouge.JOSHUA P.
First off, when I contacted this location for a truck they said they wouldn't have anything til October, so I went to another local place that helped me to get this truck and then I haul sent it to this place and , I wouldn't recommend this place because of lack of customer service and they were supposed to open at 7:30 and we were scheduled to pick up at 8am and went back to the other location to see if they could help us get the truck from a ok, since they didn't take the reservation, and u haul wouldn't let them help, (even tho this other local place on ave of the flags secured the transaction), then a-ok finally showed up around 9am and we got the truck around 9;30am and that cost me 1 1/2 hours and we were paying helpers by the hour, and waiting on a-ok . Uhaul only credited $10 for the inconvenience and our 2 guys cost more than that for the 1 1/2 hrs lost. Then they didn't have any moving blankets â€œat allâ€ so we went back to the other local location (on ave of the flags) to get them. I would highly recommend the location on ave of the flags for all the help they gave me, and their friendly service! I didn't even get an apology for the late opening of A ok, except they added 50 extra miles of which I didn't need. Other than that they did ok checking me in. Their u haul business standards fir my experience was not up to par.Denise K.
Allow for non-electronic check-in as an option. Being forced to do it all by text or internet messaging was very slow, and inconvenient for people who are uncomfortable with smart phone apps.Linda H.
The location itself was great -- the U-Haul system is terrible. We had to drive 45 mins out here and back because U-Haul had overbooked vans in our area. We had one day of notice, and no communication as to whether we would get extended mileage (yes) or any reduced fee for inconvenience and extra miles driven in a truck that gets 12mpg or the fact that we have to organize alternative transportation to get to the rental location (no).Georgia T.

I had to stop at 3 locations in Santa Barbara and Goleta to pick up blankets. It appeared that there were trucks the same size we rented in Buelton, 50 miles from Santa Barbara, our starting point at 2 of the locations. I would have preferred to pick up a truck closer to to the start than 50 miles out of our way.ROBERT J.
I had booked a pick up and dolly (84,00 dollars with both insurances )and the person that went pick up the renting facility was given a moving truck and a trailer and was told that the price was the same . I didn't think to rent such a big truck because I didn't have the licence for . So I had to have the person for the day. And he had to return the trailer and mover truck to the next day. I had a horrible day , I had to deal w people I don't like to deal with and I feel robbed and scammed. So if I could give em -1000000 as rating I would have given . I had already a problem ,that's why I rented and instead of helping they took advantageEDWARD S.
The vehicle was clean and in good repair. I would have easily rated this location excellent except for one problem. The man who checked me out said the tank was full. The gauge showed the line level with the F so I checked YES on the app before heading out. BUT, when I went to refuel before returning the truck it took 6 gallons to fill the tank and I only went 13 miles! I explained this to the clerk at A Ok Power Equipment, showed him the gas receipt and that the tank obviously wasn't full when I checked it out. The gauge line actually goes past the F, but how was I suppose to know that. So, I requested a credit for at least half of the fuel cost. He said he was not authorized to issue that and directed me to call U-Haul. I hung up after waiting on the phone for over an hour trying to talk to a representative.JENNIFER M.
Two locations in town..the main one may be 'credited' with my rating but it was a professional operation. The other place (that had 'my' dolly) was not what one would think regarding ability, service, parts etc..two auto parts stores were close so I could get hitch ball, wiring plugs etcstan M.

I had great customer service at that location. No complaints on location or staff. My surprise since I had not rented a van in a long time was seeing the 19.95 advertised and finding out the cost per mile had gone up to .69. 100 miles...$69.00. My rental for less than 3 hours cost more than the item I was picking up.Linda S.

The Buellton facility was very helpful. When we reserved a UHaul with the national UHaul I was told I would be told where to pick up the vehicle the day before. I was told Atascadero was the location for a 20 foot truck. I informed the representative that Atascadero was unacceptable because of a health issue driving up the grade. I asked if there was anything south that I could use and was told there was nothing else. I called around and got the Buellton facility which was a savior. So my experience was unacceptable except until Buellton came to the rescue!!Mark P.

nothing was wrong with the buellton location, however the entire experience i had while trying to make the uhual reservation was an absolute nightmare. i kept receiving calls to "confirm" my reservation and the associates had either the wrong date or time on the reservation on multiple occassions. i kept having to restate that i needed it on x date at x time. they also didnt have a truck near me so i had to reserve one 40 miles away, and they did discount the mileage however i still had to pay for an additional 80 miles that i wasnt planning on paying originally. the woman on the phone was rude to me and said i shouldve made my reservation sooner, which i found odd because ive never had an issue with making a uhaul reservation the week of the move. then, i received a phone call right as i was about to leave for the 40 minute trip to pick up the truck, that my truck had become unavailable (how does that happen??) and that they had one 40 mins in the other direction. it was fine cause it was the same amount of driving time just in a different direction, but they called extremely last minute to make yet another change to the plan. it was frustrating not having a reliable reservation during my move.Antoinette C.

The location, equipment condition, and staff were all excellent, however I was overcharged on the rental of the 20 ft. truck. I was quoted that the rental would include 100 miles of driving at no additional charge and that the total for rental would be $110.98 for the 24-hour period. I was then later charged $160 and did not exceed the 100 miles, only had the truck for 4 hours, as well as returned the truck with the same fuel amount as when I picked it up. I'm VERY disappointed and have contacted AOK Equipment to get refunded on the overcharge. They have not contacted me back after initiating this process today. I spoke with Joel at the location and he confirmed that the rental was to include the 100 miles at no charge and said he would get back to me.Joseph F.

I had a great experience on both ends. The only problem I had was in driving from Long Beach to Santa Ynez when the 5 freeway is closed down due to weather. A 3 hour drive turned into 8. Now if U-Haul can only do something about that!Alan C.

There was an extra $141 charge for insurance which I had declined when I made my online reservation. The Staff at this location said they could not remove this charge....and I have since been told by calling the 800 number that they cant make the change either that it should be done when I picked up the truck....leaving me a choice of wither paing for the insurance or not taking th truckthomas P.
