Don’t lie about the final price, when i reserved the equipment the final price that it mentioned was good but when i went to pick it up they said it a little over $300 extra for some reason and that really put us in a bad spot but we didn’t have much of a choice

I dropped the trailer off after hours, no one explained to me that I could use the U-Haul account to drop off the trailer, it was dropped off in Saturday and wasn’t logged into the the system until Tuesday after it was considered late and I called Monday and more than three times on Tuesday. I wouldn’t recommend dropping off any equipment at this location

When I set up my appointment with customer service via 800 number i informed them I didn't have an exact time in the morning because I had an inspection 9am-10am but wanted to be able to grab it asap. She informed me it doesn't open until 10am anyway so let's just be safe at say 12pm and if your early no problem the equipment is already there. I was also concerned because they choose a non uhaul orginal store to pick up my auto transport. I let hee know my concerns that I have no idea how to hook up my truck to an auto transport and would prefer a uhaul place and not a barber shop. she insisted the barber could help with no issues. my appointment was quicker then I thought at home so i arrived at location for 10am when they open. The owner wasn't there. I waited a few mins and finally called the field manager you them said the owner was on his way and my appointment was at 12. I explained how I set it up via the 800 number but she never said anything about this location strictly going by appointments only. The owner showed up and I explained why I was early and he understood. He was VERY nice and helpful. I will say this though. The 800 number lady told me the location and hook it up for me. Yes he hooked up the trailer to the uhaul but as far as putting my vechile on the trailer and making sure it was secure they do not do that for you. He said he could tell us the directions which are printed on the trailer but he can't physically do it for us because of liability issues. I understood his reasoning and like I said was very helpful and walked us through it. I am not pleased though with the customer service number when setting up my appointment and explaining my concerns and how they were basically ignored and wasn't given the correct information. Again the barber shop owner was amazing he even let us inside to use the bathroom before we hot our 500 mile road trip with our kids. This review in no way shape or form is to talk bad about him because like I said this was not his fault and he was very nice and helpful to us. As far as the customer service of uhaul at the 800, they need a lot of work there!

This is a barber shop. U-Haul sent me to drop the trailer at a barber shop that also happens to deal in U-Haul trailers. Oh and they also do tattoos. So I guess one-stop shopping. Don’t get me wrong, the guys was nice and he took care of the turn-in quickly. It just threw me for a loop.

The equipment appeared to be well maintained, but the vehicle was not cleaned. I had to clean the windows and the mirrors prior to my departure. The floor in the cab was dirty and did not appear to have been swept out.

U-Haul really came through for me this time I had to move in hurry short notice not much help Mel did everything he could to help me out I ended up needing the truck for an extra day he said it was no problem I had to keep changing my plans and it would have drove a normal person nuts but it didn't seem to bother him one bit! He's just the kind of person you need to deal with when you're so stressed out! He can handle anything!! I couldn't have asked for better service! The truck ran great, didn't take much gas, everything just worked out perfectly in the end! No hassles picking up or dropping off. They really helped my stressful situation smooth right out! Thank You very much!!

David Melvin and Mike (David's Assistant) were both extremely helpful and professional in assisting me when I turned in the U-Haul truck I rented.They brought to my attention the many items available through U-Haul even if one were not renting a truck or a trailer from U-Haul. Items such as towing items blankets, boxes, etc. I will recommend Against The Grain to all of my friends and family. The vehicle I rented was clean, fully serviced and extremely easy to drive. Uhaul smelled very poor and drove very rough. Every crack and bump in the road made us lift off our seats. Guessing it’s a problem with the suspension.

This was not my originally chosen location. However, I was contacted by U Haul Dispatch, saying that they did NOT have a 10' truck and Dolly available in Jacksonville. They were upgrading me to a 15' truck, and an auto transport. I was directed to Against the Grain. As I was enroute to that location, the owner (Mel) called to tell me that he had the truck, but no auto transport. Someone told him to eliminate the auto transport from my Reservation, and they located one 18 miles south in Snead's Ferry. I asked if they were 'open' this late on Sunday, and he assured me that they were. We high-tailed it down the road (the opposite direction that we wanted to go), and arrived between 3:45 and 3:50 PM, and were told that they closed at 4. He was unaware that I was coming. When he (Richard) pulled up my Reservation, there was no auto transport on it. He called Dispatch, and spoke w/Misty, and she was very upset with this recounting of my run-around. Finally, she advised Richard to just write up a new reservation for the transport. He couldn't get it to go thru, because it kept asking what type of equipment it was being attached to. When he entered 'U Haul truck', the system wanted to charge me for a new truck rental. Misty was able, after considerable effort, to get the reservation thru. Richard helped to get the car loaded, and everything safely anchored down (I am 71 years old, and not that agile). He said that the hookups are the Customer's responsibility, as U Haul did not want to assume any liability for faulty hookups. After over an hour on site, we were on our way. Incidentally, Richard (Snead's Ferry), had both 10' truck, and the transport. All we were moving was 6 small household items that did not fit on our original truckload. We drove 750 mile to Jacksonville to pick it up, and then 750 miles back to our new home in Murfreesboro, TN. I paid U Haul over $700 for a vehicle much too big for the need, and the additional fuel costs for a much larger vehicle. All of this, in addition to experiencing very poor coordination of reserved equipment. Fortunately for U Haul, the drop off location and personnel were exceptionally excellent!! When I mentioned the 'hook-up' policy, they used some very colorful Tennessee adjectives to let me know that it IS their responsibility to do everything to secure the hookup of transport to truck, and the car on the transport. The only thing they do NOT do is drive the car onto the transport, but they do guide the owner in getting that done. I am a business man. This experience was dreadful!!!

I was flying into Jacksonville and was at the mercy of the airlines. My Uhaul reservation ended up split into two locations, one of which, Against the Grain, would be closed by the time I arrived. I called and talked to Mel at Against the Grain and he said closing time shouldn't be a problem but to call him back the day I travelled. I called the Uhaul location where my truck was going to be and tried to get my tow dolley moved to there location so I only had one stop and it would be open but your system doesn't allow equipment transfers between locations. At least that's what they told me. I called Mel the day I travelled, told him my situation, he said he had both pieces I needed, would transfer my reservation to his location for me and stay open up to 1 1/2 hours after closing to make sure I got what I needed. Are you kidding me!!!? I arrived 1 hour after he closed and he made good on everything he said he would. You don't have a rating high enough for me to give him. I appreciate his hustle and you're lucky to have him representing your brand!

It took 3 different locations before we finally go to one - 30 minutes away- that had the truck we had ordered 2 weeks prior. Nobody communicated with each other. I was told the day before that our truck was on the lot and ready for pick up...we were on huge time crunch with our moving day. Nothing was ready, the order wasn't correct. That is not the pickup location's fault, it is UHAUL's fault. I will never use UHAUL again and I'm telling everyone I know about my experience.
