The truck was in bad shape and the location was slow to respond even though I opted for an online pick up. I had to do everything twice. I'm going to recommend that no one rent from uhaul and go to Penske. This was by far the worst customer experience I've ever had. I've been spammed endlessly and there was no real help when I needed it most.JOSHUA R.
I put the gas back in the uhaul, cleaned it and delivered it to uhaul in Luverne, Al where the GPS took me to and I was charged $70 plus dollars more. I never had any problems from my 1st two uhaul rentals, I'll never rent from this uhaul again. I sent all pictures to include the refill of gas & the clean truck. I checked the truck in and I received a thank-you after checking it in. This is ridiculous!NITA S.

I was going to drop off my truck/trailer at the closest location to my destination. When I got there, I was told they could not check me out because they are too small to take my trailer. They told me to go to this location on Eastern Boulevard, although Google Maps indicated the location is closed. When I got the Eastern Blvd, it was closed but it said they receive 24/7. I called and got to speak with the owner/operator, who told me to just leave the truck and trailer there and put the key in the orange mailbox. I explained that I needed help getting my car off the auto transport but I was basically told to figure it out. I had to look up YouTube videos to figure out how to go about getting my car. I had to crawl under the front and back of the auto transport to unhook chains and then pull on some really tight belts that were blocking my front wheels. I was exhausted aft\er a long drive and day of unloading and, as a woman, had to figure out how to do all that work. I am not pleased with the experience one bit.Georgianna L.

We rent trailers from U-Haul often. Most commonly, we have rented from the â€œWoodmereâ€ location at 2525 Eastern Blvd., Montgomery, AL. While the personal at the Woodmere location are always well trained and friendly, that location is woefully understaffed, commonly resulting in customers standing in a long line for an hour while a single desk person works. This time, we rented from the Alpha Auto Brokers location at 700 Eastern Blvd. Montgomery, AL. This location was well staffed. The only difficulty is that they have the trailers stored in parking slots that are angled toward the curb, making uncoupling very difficult for a lone older person on Sundays when the location is closed. That is the only reason I didn't give that location five stars.Jon C.
I checked in on the Internet but the location I picked it up at didn't open until 10:30 in the morning, which was late for an out-of-town move. The engine oil light came on two miles from the location. I took it back and they swapped it out. Both trucks were clean. As on previous occasions when I rented a U-haul truck, I was clipped a little on the gas. As with other occasions when I have rented U-Haul, the gas in the tank at checkout is lower than what is indicated on the contract, Looks to me like they just round it up to next higher level and you wind up paying the difference. Why not just check it out with a full tank and you bring it back full? That makes more sense to me.James B.

Improve how your representative speaks with your customers. I was applaud of how I was spoken to while trying to pick up a reserved truck. My reservation confirmation provided a pickup location at 14 Bolton Dr, Montgomery. When I arrive at this location the store front was closed. I called a number UHaul sent me via text and spoke with a representative. I don't recall his name, but I didn't find him very professional. First, he answered the phone â€œhelloâ€. I didn't know if I was calling UHaul or a random person. I asked who am I speaking with. His response was â€œwho am I speaking withâ€. I responded I am trying to reach UHaul about a reservation. This is when he acknowledged himself with UHaul. I gave him my reservation number, and he told me I need to go to a location at 790 Eastern Blvd. So I drive to the Eastern location. The store front is closed, so I call and spoke with the same person I mention earlier. While he eventually walked me through the process of taking delivery of the truck via my smart phone. He made it clear that he is doing me a favor. His exact words were â€œI hope you know I am doing you a favorâ€. I was applaud and wanted to take my business elsewhere, but I had driven in from Franklin TN (four hour drive) and needed the truck to move my daughter from college back home to Franklin. This representative needs training on how to answer the phone, how to greet a customer, and most importantly, know that customers are the reason he has a job. My point is, he wasn't doing me a favor. The vehicle return process was perfect. The person I spoke with was nice, professional and helpful. He made me feel like a valued customer. From my experience it is nothing you can improve on because my experience was beyond what I usual experience with U-Haul and I appreciate it. I received wonderful customers service and will be frequently using them for any U-Haul. They were professional and helped load up the equipment so I would not have to. Both gentlemen working at this location were VERY helpful. We had a prior reservation at another location Hair Studio One at 1225 Highland in Montgomery who was a no show at 4:07 when we were supposed to pick up trailer at 4. They advertised being open until 5 but obviously we're not. I called repeatedly and left a message with no return call which left us in a bad spot. The gentlemen running the Eastern Blvd location had us in and out in no time. They definitely made up for the other location which almost left us stranded. TheSteve C.
